切求兄弟、勿輒動心驚怖、或為神感、或聽人言、或展手書、似我所遺、言基督臨日伊邇、

我儕求兄弟、或有神、或有言、或有冒我名之書信、言基督降臨之日伊邇、勿輒動心、亦勿驚亂、

我懇切勸兄弟、勿輕信任何預言理論、或冒充吾人之書信、而有動於心、乃至驚惶失措、一若主臨之日、即在目前也者。

not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us— whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter— asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.

What if you receive a message that is supposed to have come from us? What if it says that the day of the Lord has already come? If it does, we ask you not to become easily upset or alarmed. Don’t be upset whether that message is spoken or written or prophesied.

not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us.

that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit, or a message, or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

not to be easily upset in mind or troubled, either by a spirit or by a message or by a letter as if from us, alleging that the Day of the Lord has come.

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world.Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not troubled: these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray.For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray.And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet.

and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.For this they wilfully forget, that there were heavens from of old, and an earth compacted out of water and amidst water, by the word of God;by which means the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:but the heavens that now are, and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Say ye not, A conspiracy, concerning all whereof this people shall say, A conspiracy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be in dread thereof.Jehovah of hosts, him shall ye sanctify; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee.

And when ye shall hear of wars and tumults, be not terrified: for these things must needs come to pass first; but the end is not immediately.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall in no wise precede them that are fallen asleep.

In your patience ye shall win your souls.

Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

I have heard what the prophets have said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?that think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgat my name for Baal.

If there arise in the midst of thee a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give thee a sign or a wonder,and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of dreams: for Jehovah your God proveth you, to know whether ye love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul.Ye shall walk after Jehovah your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage, to draw thee aside out of the way which Jehovah thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.

The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.

And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.

who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye be unreproveable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

save that the Holy Spirit testifieth unto me in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.But I hold not my life of any account as dear unto myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his sight, wherewith he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and them that worshipped his image: they two were cast alive into the lake of fire that burneth with brimstone:

Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.

that no man be moved by these afflictions; for yourselves know that hereunto we are appointed.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

So then, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye were taught, whether by word, or by epistle of ours.
