When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed down to pay him honor. David said,“ Mephibosheth!”“ At your service,” he replied.

Mephibosheth came to David. He was the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul. Mephibosheth bowed down to David to show him respect. David said,“ Mephibosheth!”“ I’m ready to serve you,” he replied.

His name was Mephibosheth; he was Jonathan’s son and Saul’s grandson. When he came to David, he bowed low to the ground in deep respect. David said,“ Greetings, Mephibosheth.” Mephibosheth replied,“ I am your servant.”

Mephibosheth son of Jonathan son of Saul came to David, fell facedown, and paid homage. David said,“ Mephibosheth!”“ I am your servant,” he replied.

Then the king said to Ziba,“ Behold, all that belonged to Mephibosheth is now yours.” And Ziba said,“ I pay homage; let me ever find favor in your sight, my lord the king.”

and the son of Jonathan was Merib-baal; and Merib-baal was the father of Micah.

And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king. He had neither taken care of his feet nor trimmed his beard nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came back in safety.And when he came to Jerusalem to meet the king, the king said to him,“ Why did you not go with me, Mephibosheth?”He answered,“ My lord, O king, my servant deceived me, for your servant said to him,‘ I will saddle a donkey for myself, that I may ride on it and go with the king.’ For your servant is lame.He has slandered your servant to my lord the king. But my lord the king is like the angel of God; do therefore what seems good to you.For all my father’s house were but men doomed to death before my lord the king, but you set your servant among those who eat at your table. What further right have I, then, to cry to the king?”And the king said to him,“ Why speak any more of your affairs? I have decided: you and Ziba shall divide the land.”And Mephibosheth said to the king,“ Oh, let him take it all, since my lord the king has come safely home.”

When Abigail saw David, she hurried and got down from the donkey and fell before David on her face and bowed to the ground.

He himself went on before them, bowing himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing in front of him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth

And as soon as the boy had gone, David rose from beside the stone heap and fell on his face to the ground and bowed three times. And they kissed one another and wept with one another, David weeping the most.
