David asked,“ Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

大衛問說：「掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他施恩。」

大衛說：「掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他施恩。」

大衛說：「掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他施恩。」

大衛問：「掃羅一家還有什麼人嗎？我要因為和約拿單的情義而恩待他。」

大衛問說：『掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他表示厚愛。』

大衛問：「掃羅家還有誰剩下嗎？我要因約拿單的緣故，以恩慈對待他。」

大衛曰、掃羅家尚有遺存者乎、我緣約拿單故、將施仁慈於彼、

大闢曰、掃羅裔尚有遺乎、緣約拿單故、我欲施恩於彼。

大衛問曰、掃羅家尚有遺存者乎、我欲緣約拿單故、施恩於彼、

David asked,“ Is anyone left from the royal house of Saul? If there is, I want to be kind to him because of Jonathan.”

And David said,“ Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

One day David asked,“ Is anyone in Saul’s family still alive— anyone to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

David asked,“ Is there anyone remaining from the family of Saul I can show kindness to for Jonathan’s sake?”

Then David said,“ Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul, so that I could show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

Now David said,“ Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?

David asked,“ Is there anyone remaining from Saul’s family I can show kindness to because of Jonathan?”

And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?

Then David asked,“ Is anyone still left from the family of Saul, so that I may extend kindness to him for the sake of Jonathan?”

David said,“ Is there yet any who is left of Saul’s house, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

Jonathan said to David,“ Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the Lord, saying,‘ The Lord is witness between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants forever.’” Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town.

“ The King will reply,‘ Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

But show me unfailing kindness like the Lord’s kindness as long as I live, so that I may not be killed,and do not ever cut off your kindness from my family— not even when the Lord has cut off every one of David’s enemies from the face of the earth.”So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying,“ May the Lord call David’s enemies to account.”And Jonathan had David reaffirm his oath out of love for him, because he loved him as he loved himself.

Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.

When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her,“ Woman, here is your son,”and to the disciple,“ Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

And Saul’s son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength in God.“ Don’t be afraid,” he said.“ My father Saul will not lay a hand on you. You will be king over Israel, and I will be second to you. Even my father Saul knows this.”The two of them made a covenant before the Lord. Then Jonathan went home, but David remained at Horesh.

yet I prefer to appeal to you on the basis of love. It is as none other than Paul— an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus—that I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains.Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.I am sending him— who is my very heart— back to you.

I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women.

“ But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai of Gilead and let them be among those who eat at your table. They stood by me when I fled from your brother Absalom.

And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”

Finally, all of you, be like- minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.

Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family, and do not go to your relative’s house when disaster strikes you— better a neighbor nearby than a relative far away.

After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself.From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family.And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself.Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt.
