And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?

大衛問說：「掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他施恩。」

大衛說：「掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他施恩。」

大衛說：「掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他施恩。」

大衛問：「掃羅一家還有什麼人嗎？我要因為和約拿單的情義而恩待他。」

大衛問：“掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故，以慈愛待他。”

大衛問說：『掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他表示厚愛。』

大衛問：「掃羅家還有誰剩下嗎？我要因約拿單的緣故，以恩慈對待他。」

大衛曰、掃羅家尚有遺存者乎、我緣約拿單故、將施仁慈於彼、

大闢曰、掃羅裔尚有遺乎、緣約拿單故、我欲施恩於彼。

大衛問曰、掃羅家尚有遺存者乎、我欲緣約拿單故、施恩於彼、

David asked,“ Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

David asked,“ Is anyone left from the royal house of Saul? If there is, I want to be kind to him because of Jonathan.”

And David said,“ Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

One day David asked,“ Is anyone in Saul’s family still alive— anyone to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

David asked,“ Is there anyone remaining from the family of Saul I can show kindness to for Jonathan’s sake?”

Then David said,“ Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul, so that I could show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

Now David said,“ Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

David asked,“ Is there anyone remaining from Saul’s family I can show kindness to because of Jonathan?”

And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?

Then David asked,“ Is anyone still left from the family of Saul, so that I may extend kindness to him for the sake of Jonathan?”

David said,“ Is there yet any who is left of Saul’s house, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of Jehovah, saying, Jehovah shall be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed, for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me.

And thou shalt not only while yet I live show me the lovingkindness of Jehovah, that I die not;but also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever; no, not when Jehovah hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, And Jehovah will require it at the hand of David’s enemies.And Jonathan caused David to swear again, for the love that he had to him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink, because ye are Christ’s, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold, thy son!Then saith he to the disciple, Behold, thy mother! And from that hour the disciple took her unto his own home.

And Jonathan, Saul’s son, arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.And he said unto him, Fear not; for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.And they two made a covenant before Jehovah: and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.

yet for love’s sake I rather beseech, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now a prisoner also of Christ Jesus:I beseech thee for my child, whom I have begotten in my bonds, Onesimus,who once was unprofitable to thee, but now is profitable to thee and to me:whom I have sent back to thee in his own person, that is, my very heart:

I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: Very pleasant hast thou been unto me: Thy love to me was wonderful, Passing the love of women.

But show kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at thy table; for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom thy brother.

And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Finally, be ye all likeminded, compassionate, loving as brethren, tenderhearted, humbleminded:

Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; And go not to thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: Better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off.

And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father’s house.Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his apparel, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.
