He put garrisons in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to him and brought tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.

He stationed some soldiers in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus. The people of Aram were brought under his rule. They gave him the gifts he required them to bring him. The Lord helped David win his battles everywhere he went.

Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Syrians became servants to David and brought tribute. And the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.

But rejoice, all who take refuge in You, Sing for joy forever! And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may rejoice in You.For You bless the righteous person, Lord, You surround him with favor as with a shield.

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But the victory belongs to the Lord.

Now the day came that Jonathan, the son of Saul, said to the young man who was carrying his armor,“ Come, and let’s cross over to the Philistines’ garrison that is on the other side.” But he did not tell his father.

And there was a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. Even the garrison and the raiders trembled, and the earth quaked so that it became a great trembling.

Now then, do it! For the Lord has spoken regarding David, saying,‘ By the hand of My servant David I will save My people Israel from the hand of the Philistines, and from the hands of all their enemies.’ ”

Blessed be the Lord, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;My faithfulness and my fortress, My stronghold and my savior, My shield and He in whom I take refuge, Who subdues my people under me.

He placed troops in all the fortified cities of Judah, and placed garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim which his father Asa had captured.

God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head on the day of battle.

And He defeated Moab, and measured them with the line, making them lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and a full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became servants to David, bringing tribute.

David was then in the stronghold, while the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
