Benaiah son of Jehoiada was captain of the king’s bodyguard. And David’s sons served as priestly leaders.

甲薛人耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，是一個力氣很大的人，作過許多大事。他曾經擊殺了摩押人的兩個勇將；又在下雪的時候，下到坑裡去擊殺了一隻獅子。他還擊殺了一個體格高大的埃及人。這埃及人手裡有矛，比拿雅只拿著棍子下去與他對抗；結果他把埃及人手中的矛槍奪了過來，用那矛槍殺死他。這些是耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅所作的事。他與“三勇士”齊名。他的榮譽比那“三十勇士”高，不過，卻不及“三勇士”。大衛立他作侍衛長。

住在沿海地帶的人，基列提的國民哪！你們有禍了。這是耶和華攻擊你們的話：“非利士人之地迦南啊！我必毀滅你，使你那裡沒有人居住。

睚珥人以拉也作大衛的祭司。

於是耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅上去擊殺他，把他殺死，葬在曠野約押自己的家中。王任命耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅取代約押統領軍隊；又任命撒督祭司取代亞比亞他的職位。

耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統領軍隊；撒督和亞比亞他作祭司；

因此，主耶和華這樣說：看哪！我要伸手攻擊非利士人，剪除基利提人，消滅沿海剩下的人。
