以撒回答以扫说：“我已立他为你的主，使他的弟兄都给他作仆人，并赐他五谷新酒可以养生。我儿，现在我还能为你做什么呢？”以扫对他父亲说：“父啊，你只有一样可祝的福吗？我父啊，求你也为我祝福！”以扫就放声而哭。他父亲以撒说：“地上的肥土必为你所住；天上的甘露必为你所得。你必倚靠刀剑度日，又必侍奉你的兄弟；到你强盛的时候，必从你颈项上挣开他的轭。”

于是大卫在大马士革的亚兰地设立防营，亚兰人就归服他，给他进贡。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。

那时以东没有王，有总督治理。

保护以色列的，也不打盹也不睡觉。保护你的是耶和华；耶和华在你右边荫庇你。白日，太阳必不伤你；夜间，月亮必不害你。耶和华要保护你，免受一切的灾害；他要保护你的性命。你出你入，耶和华要保护你，从今时直到永远。

摩押是我的沐浴盆；我要向以东抛鞋；我必因胜非利士呼喊。”谁能领我进坚固城？谁能引我到以东地？
