Those nations were Edom, Moab, Ammon, Philistia and Amalek. He also set apart for the Lord what he had taken from Hadadezer, the son of Rehob. Hadadezer was king of Zobah.

亞捫人見亞蘭人逃跑，他們也在亞比篩面前逃跑進城。約押就離開亞捫人，回耶路撒冷去了。

他又攻打摩押人，使他們躺臥在地上，用繩來量，量二繩的殺了，量一繩的活着。摩押人就臣服大衛，向他進貢。

大衛王把這些器皿，以及從各國奪來的金銀，就是從以東、摩押、亞捫人、非利士人、亞瑪力所奪來的，都分別為聖獻給耶和華。

約押對亞比篩說：「亞蘭人若強過我，你就來幫助我；亞捫人若強過你，我就去幫助你。

約押攻打亞捫人的拉巴，攻佔了京城。約押派使者到大衛那裏，說：「我攻打拉巴，也攻佔了水城。現在你要召集其餘的軍兵，安營圍攻這城，攻佔它，免得我攻佔這城，人就以我的名叫這城。」於是大衛召集全軍，往拉巴去攻城，就攻佔了它。他也奪了米勒公頭上所戴的冠冕，其上的金子重一他連得，又嵌着寶石。這冠冕就戴在大衛頭上。大衛又從城裏奪了許多財物，把城裏的百姓拉出來，叫他們用鋸，用鐵耙，用鐵斧做工，派他們在磚窰中服役；大衛待亞捫各城的居民都是如此。於是，大衛和全軍都回耶路撒冷去了。

非利士人聽見大衛受膏作以色列王，非利士眾人就上來尋索大衛。大衛聽見了，就下到堡壘去。非利士人來了，散佈在利乏音谷。大衛求問耶和華說：「我可以上去攻打非利士人嗎？你將他們交在我手裏嗎？」耶和華對大衛說：「你可以上去，我必將非利士人交在你手裏。」大衛來到巴力‧毗拉心，在那裏擊敗了非利士人。他說：「耶和華在我面前沖破敵人，如水沖破一樣。」因此他稱那地方為巴力‧毗拉心。非利士人把偶像拋棄在那裏，大衛和他的人拿去了。非利士人又上來，散佈在利乏音谷。大衛求問耶和華；耶和華說：「不要直上，要繞到他們後頭，從桑樹林對面攻打他們。你聽見桑樹梢上有腳步的聲音，就要急速前去，因為那時耶和華已經出去，在你前頭攻打非利士人的軍隊了。」大衛就遵照耶和華所吩咐的去做，攻打非利士人，從迦巴直到基色。

大衛所奪來的牛羣羊羣，有人趕在羣畜前面，說：「這是大衛的掠物。」

大衛和他的人上去，侵奪基述人、基色人、亞瑪力人，這些是從帖蘭經過書珥直到埃及地的居民。
