Those nations were Edom, Moab, Ammon, Philistia and Amalek. He also set apart for the Lord what he had taken from Hadadezer, the son of Rehob. Hadadezer was king of Zobah.

亞捫人見亞蘭人逃跑，他們也在亞比篩面前逃跑進城。約押就離開亞捫人那裏，回耶路撒冷去了。

又攻打摩押人，使他們躺臥在地上，用繩量一量：量二繩的殺了，量一繩的存留。摩押人就歸服大衛，給他進貢。

大衛王將這些器皿，並從各國奪來的金銀，就是從以東、摩押、亞捫、非利士、亞瑪力人所奪來的，都分別為聖獻給耶和華。

約押對亞比篩說：「亞蘭人若強過我，你就來幫助我；亞捫人若強過你，我就去幫助你。

約押攻取亞捫人的京城拉巴。約押打發使者去見大衛，說：「我攻打拉巴，取其水城。現在你要聚集其餘的軍兵來，安營圍攻這城，恐怕我取了這城，人就以我的名叫這城。」於是大衛聚集眾軍，往拉巴去攻城，就取了這城，奪了亞捫人之王所戴的金冠冕，其上的金子重一他連得，又嵌着寶石。人將這冠冕戴在大衛頭上。大衛從城裏奪了許多財物，將城裏的人拉出來，放在鋸下，或鐵耙下，或鐵斧下，或叫他經過磚窰；大衛待亞捫各城的居民都是如此。其後，大衛和眾軍都回耶路撒冷去了。

非利士人聽見人膏大衛作以色列王，非利士眾人就上來尋索大衛；大衛聽見，就下到保障。非利士人來了，布散在利乏音谷。大衛求問耶和華說：「我可以上去攻打非利士人嗎？你將他們交在我手裏嗎？」耶和華說：「你可以上去，我必將非利士人交在你手裏。」大衛來到巴力‧毗拉心，在那裏擊殺非利士人，說：「耶和華在我面前沖破敵人，如同水沖去一般。」因此稱那地方為巴力‧毗拉心。非利士人將偶像撇在那裏，大衛和跟隨他的人拿去了。非利士人又上來，布散在利乏音谷。大衛求問耶和華；耶和華說：「不要一直地上去，要轉到他們後頭，從桑林對面攻打他們。你聽見桑樹梢上有腳步的聲音，就要急速前去，因為那時耶和華已經在你前頭去攻打非利士人的軍隊。」大衛就遵着耶和華所吩咐的去行，攻打非利士人，從迦巴直到基色。

大衛所奪來的牛羣羊羣，跟隨他的人趕在原有的羣畜前邊，說：「這是大衛的掠物。」

大衛和跟隨他的人上去，侵奪基述人、基色人、亞瑪力人之地。這幾族歷來住在那地，從書珥直到埃及。
