He raiseth up the poor out of the dust,[ and] lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;That he may set[ him] with princes,[ even] with the princes of his people.

And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David’s servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David,[ and] brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together.

He hath put down the mighty from[ their] seats, and exalted them of low degree.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust,[ and] lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set[ them] among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth[ are] the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.

He maketh my feet like hinds’[ feet]: and setteth me upon my high places.He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this[ man] was born there.And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people,[ that] this[ man] was born there. Selah.

And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day[ that] the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
