大衛日見強盛，因為耶和華－萬軍之神與他同在。

你無論往哪裏去，我常與你同在，剪除你的一切仇敵；我必使你得大名，好像世上大大有名的人一樣。

大衛做事無不精明，耶和華也與他同在。

我要追趕我的仇敵，並要追上他們；不將他們滅絕，我總不歸回。我要打傷他們，使他們不能起來；他們必倒在我的腳下。因為你曾以力量束我的腰，使我能爭戰；你也使那起來攻擊我的都服在我以下。你又使我的仇敵在我面前轉背逃跑，叫我能以剪除那恨我的人。他們呼求，卻無人拯救；就是呼求耶和華，他也不應允。我搗碎他們，如同風前的灰塵，倒出他們，如同街上的泥土。

他從灰塵裏擡舉貧寒人，從糞堆中提拔窮乏人，使他們與王子同坐，就是與本國的王子同坐。

又在以東全地設立防營，以東人就都歸服大衛。大衛無論往哪裏去，耶和華都使他得勝。

於是大衛在大馬士革的亞蘭地設立防營，亞蘭人就歸服他，給他進貢。大衛無論往哪裏去，耶和華都使他得勝。

這樣，掃羅和他三個兒子，與拿他兵器的人，以及跟隨他的人，都一同死亡。

他叫有權柄的失位，叫卑賤的升高；

他從灰塵裏擡舉貧寒人，從糞堆中提拔窮乏人，使他們與王子同坐，得着榮耀的座位。地的柱子屬於耶和華；他將世界立在其上。

他使我的腳快如母鹿的蹄，又使我在高處安穩。他教導我的手能以爭戰，甚至我的膀臂能開銅弓。你把你的救恩給我作盾牌；你的溫和使我為大。你使我腳下的地步寬闊；我的腳未曾滑跌。我追趕我的仇敵，滅絕了他們，未滅以先，我沒有歸回。

我藉着你衝入敵軍，藉着我的神跳過牆垣。

神的城啊，有榮耀的事乃指着你說的。（細拉）我要提起拉哈伯和巴比倫人，是在認識我之中的；看哪，非利士和泰爾並古實人，個個生在那裏。論到錫安，必說：這一個、那一個都生在其中，而且至高者必親自堅立這城。當耶和華記錄萬民的時候，他要點出這一個生在那裏。（細拉）

當耶和華救大衛脫離一切仇敵和掃羅之手的日子，他向耶和華念這詩，

我要在他面前打碎他的敵人，擊殺那恨他的人。

我必叫你成為大國。我必賜福給你，叫你的名為大；你也要叫別人得福。
