大卫渐渐强大，因为耶和华万军的神与他同在。

大卫所行的一切都亨通，因为耶和华与他同在。

我追赶仇敌，把他们追上；不消灭他们，我必不归回。我重创他们，使他们不能起来；他们都倒在我的脚下。你以能力给我束腰，使我能够作战；你又使那些起来攻击我的人都屈服在我的脚下。你使我的仇敌在我面前转背逃跑，使我可以歼灭恨我的人。他们呼叫，却没有人拯救；就算向耶和华呼求，他也不答应他们。我捣碎他们，像风前的尘土，我倾倒他们，像街上的烂泥。

他从灰尘中抬举贫寒人，从粪堆中提拔穷乏人，使他们和权贵同坐，就是和他子民中的权贵同坐，

他又在以东设立防军；他在以东各地都设立防军，所有以东人就都臣服大卫。大卫无论到什么地方去，耶和华都使他得胜。

于是大卫在大马士革的亚兰地驻军。这样亚兰人就臣服大卫，给他进贡。大卫无论到什么地方去，耶和华都使他得胜。

这样，扫罗和他的三个儿子，以及替他拿兵器的人，还有所有跟随他的人，都在那一天一同死了。

他使有权能的失位，叫卑微的升高，

他从灰尘中抬举贫寒的人，从粪堆中提拔穷乏的人，使他们与显贵同坐，承受尊贵的座位。大地的柱子属于耶和华，他把全地安放在柱子上面。

他使我的脚像母鹿的蹄，又使我站稳在高处。他教导我的手怎样作战，又使我的手臂可以拉开铜弓。你把你救恩的盾牌赐给我；你的回答使我昌大。你使我脚底下的路径宽阔，我的两膝不会动摇。我追赶仇敌，把他们追上，不消灭他们，我必不归回。

藉着你，我攻破敌军；靠着我的神，我跳过墙垣。

神的城啊！有很多荣耀的事，都是指着你说的。（细拉）“在认识我的人中，我提到拉哈伯和巴比伦，看哪！还有非利士、推罗和古实，我说：‘这一个是生在那里的。’”论到锡安，必有话说：“这一个、那一个都是生在锡安的。”至高者必亲自坚立这城。耶和华登记万民的时候，必记着：“这一个是生在那里的。”（细拉）

在耶和华拯救大卫脱离所有仇敌和扫罗的手的日子，他向耶和华唱出这首歌的歌词。

我要在他的面前击碎他的敌人，击杀那些恨他的人。

我必使你成为大国，赐福给你，使你的名为大，你也必使别人得福，
