I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling.

以色列人全會眾都聚集在示羅，把會棚立在那裏；那地在他們面前被征服了。

摩西把帳幕立起來，將帶卯的座安上，框子安放好，橫木穿上，柱子立好；他把罩棚鋪在帳幕上面，又將罩棚的頂遮蓋放在上面：照永恆主所吩咐摩西的。

『經了這樣的事、你們若還不聽從我，行事反而跟我作對，我就要發烈怒，行事跟你們作對；我要因你們的罪而懲罰你們七倍。

永恆主說：『是我的同在要和你同去，把你安頓好了。』摩西對永恆主說：『若不是你的同在和我同去，你就不要把我們從這裏領上去呀。

『經了這些事、你們若不接受管教而歸向我，行事反而跟我作對，那麼我、行事也就跟你們作對。我要因你們的罪擊打你們七倍；

『你要寫信給在以弗所的教會的使者說：『「那把七顆星握住在右手中、在七個金燈臺中間走來走去的、這麼說

因為永恆主你的上帝在你營中往來、要援救你，要將仇敵交在你面前；故此你的營要聖潔，不可讓他看見你中間有甚麼現露難看的，以致他轉回而離開你。

因為自從我領以色列人上來那一天、到今日，我都未曾住過殿；我乃是從帳棚到帳棚、從帳幕到帳幕往來的。我在以色列眾人中間往來、無論甚麼地方、我何曾向以色列士師中哪一位、我所委任來牧養我人民的、說：『你們為甚麼不給我建造香柏木的殿呢？』」

當時有雲彩遮蓋着會棚，永恆主的榮耀充滿着那帳幕。摩西不能進會棚，因為有雲彩如帳幕停在那上頭，永恆主的榮耀充滿着那帳幕。在他們所行的路站上、每逢雲彩從帳幕上被收上去，以色列人總往前行；雲彩若不被收上去，他們就不往前行，直等到雲彩被收上去的日子。因為在他們所行的路站上、日間總有永恆主的雲彩在帳幕上，夜間總有火在其中，在以色列全家眼前。

『在野地裏曾有法櫃之帳幕給了我們的祖宗，照那對摩西說話者所規定、叫他按所看見的模樣去作的。

上帝的殿堂同偶像怎能符合呢？我們呢、就是永活上帝的殿堂。正如上帝所說的：『我要在他們裏面居住；我要在他們中間往來；我要做他們的上帝；他們必做我的子民。』

以色列人從永恆主的山往前行了三天的路程，永恆主約櫃在他們前面往前行了三天的路程，為他們探覓停息處。每逢他們從營盤往前行的時候，日間總有永恆主的雲彩在他們上頭。每逢櫃往前行的時候，摩西總說：『永恆主啊，起來哦！願你的仇敵潰散；願恨你的人從你面前逃跑。』櫃停歇的時候，他總說：『永恆主啊，返回哦！回到以色列的萬萬千千哦！』
