I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling.

以色列的全會眾都聚集在示羅，把會幕設立在那裏，那地已經被他們制伏了。

摩西立起帳幕，安上帶卯的座，立上板，穿上閂，立起柱子。在帳幕以上搭罩棚，把罩棚的頂蓋蓋在其上，是照耶和華所吩咐他的。

「你們因這一切的事若不聽從我，卻行事與我反對，我就要發烈怒，行事與你們反對，又因你們的罪懲罰你們七次。

耶和華說：「我必親自和你同去，使你得安息。」摩西說：「你若不親自和我同去，就不要把我們從這裏領上去。

「你們因這些事若仍不改正歸我，行事與我反對，我就要行事與你們反對，因你們的罪擊打你們七次。

「你要寫信給以弗所教會的使者，說：『那右手拿着七星、在七個金燈臺中間行走的，說：

因為耶和華－你的神常在你營中行走，要救護你，將仇敵交給你，所以你的營理當聖潔，免得他見你那裏有污穢，就離開你。」

自從我領以色列人出埃及，直到今日，我未曾住過殿宇，乃從這會幕到那會幕，從這帳幕到那帳幕。凡我同以色列人所走的地方，我何曾向以色列的一個士師，就是我吩咐牧養我民的說：你為何不給我建造香柏木的殿宇呢？』

當時，雲彩遮蓋會幕，耶和華的榮光就充滿了帳幕。摩西不能進會幕；因為雲彩停在其上，並且耶和華的榮光充滿了帳幕。每逢雲彩從帳幕收上去，以色列人就起程前往；雲彩若不收上去，他們就不起程，直等到雲彩收上去。日間，耶和華的雲彩是在帳幕以上；夜間，雲中有火，在以色列全家的眼前。在他們所行的路上都是這樣。

「我們的祖宗在曠野，有法櫃的帳幕，是神吩咐摩西叫他照所看見的樣式做的。

神的殿和偶像有甚麼相同呢？因為我們是永生神的殿，就如神曾說：我要在他們中間居住，在他們中間來往；我要作他們的神；他們要作我的子民。

以色列人離開耶和華的山，往前行了三天的路程；耶和華的約櫃在前頭行了三天的路程，為他們尋找安歇的地方。他們拔營往前行，日間有耶和華的雲彩在他們以上。約櫃往前行的時候，摩西就說：「耶和華啊，求你興起！願你的仇敵四散！願恨你的人從你面前逃跑！」約櫃停住的時候，他就說：「耶和華啊，求你回到以色列的千萬人中！」
