he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Here I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of God remains in a tent.”

Then the king spoke to Nathan the prophet. He said,“ Here I am, living in a house that has beautiful cedar walls. But the ark of God remains in a tent.”

the king summoned Nathan the prophet.“ Look,” David said,“ I am living in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of God is out there in a tent!”

the king said to the prophet Nathan,“ Look, I am living in a cedar house while the ark of God sits inside tent curtains.”

that the king said to Nathan the prophet,“ See now, I live in a house of cedar, but the ark of God remains within the tent.”

that the king said to Nathan the prophet,“ See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells inside tent curtains.”

that the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

The king said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look! I am living in a palace made from cedar, while the ark of God sits in the middle of a tent.”

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, also carpenters and masons who built David a house.

And the Lord sent Nathan to David. He came to him and said to him,“ There were two men in a certain city, the one rich and the other poor.

who found favor in the sight of God and asked to find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.

“ Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?

His disciples remembered that it was written,“ Zeal for your house will consume me.”

“ Moreover, you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen and blue and purple and scarlet yarns; you shall make them with cherubim skillfully worked into them.The length of each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains shall be the same size.Five curtains shall be coupled to one another, and the other five curtains shall be coupled to one another.And you shall make loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set. Likewise you shall make loops on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set.Fifty loops you shall make on the one curtain, and fifty loops you shall make on the edge of the curtain that is in the second set; the loops shall be opposite one another.And you shall make fifty clasps of gold, and couple the curtains one to the other with the clasps, so that the tabernacle may be a single whole.“ You shall also make curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle; eleven curtains shall you make.The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits. The eleven curtains shall be the same size.You shall couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and the sixth curtain you shall double over at the front of the tent.You shall make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in the second set.“ You shall make fifty clasps of bronze, and put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together that it may be a single whole.And the part that remains of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the back of the tabernacle.And the extra that remains in the length of the curtains, the cubit on the one side, and the cubit on the other side, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle, on this side and that side, to cover it.And you shall make for the tent a covering of tanned rams’ skins and a covering of goatskins on top.

Now the acts of King David, from first to last, are written in the Chronicles of Samuel the seer, and in the Chronicles of Nathan the prophet, and in the Chronicles of Gad the seer,

And they brought in the ark of God and set it inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.

( But David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim to the place that David had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.)

“ Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice, who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing and does not give him his wages,who says,‘ I will build myself a great house with spacious upper rooms,’ who cuts out windows for it, paneling it with cedar and painting it with vermilion.Do you think you are a king because you compete in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, also masons and carpenters to build a house for him.

until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

In accordance with all these words, and in accordance with all this vision, Nathan spoke to David.

And he brought the ark into the tabernacle and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the testimony, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

And they brought in the ark of the Lord and set it in its place, inside the tent that David had pitched for it. And David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.
