但我仍不使我堅固的愛離開他、像我使我的堅愛離開掃羅一樣：掃羅是我使他離開你面前的那位。

惟我仁慈不離之、如昔奪之於掃羅、即我為爾所棄者、

我必待之以恩、不若掃羅、恩義已絕。昔我棄掃羅、簡擇於爾、

但我之仁慈、仁慈或作恩寵仍不離之、如曾離掃羅、即我於爾前所棄者、

But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you.

I took my love away from Saul. I removed him from being king. You were there when I did it. But I will never take my love away from your son.

but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you.

But my favor will not be taken from him as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from your sight.

But my faithful love will never leave him as it did when I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.

But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.

but my lovingkindness shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

But My faithful love will never leave him as I removed it from Saul; I removed him from your way.

But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took[ it] from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

But my loyal love will not be removed from him as I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.

but my loving kindness will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.

For rebellion is as reprehensible as the sin of divination, And insubordination is as reprehensible as false religion and idolatry. Since you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has also rejected you from being king.”

So Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to your neighbor, who is better than you.

Yet I will not tear away all the kingdom, but I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of My servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”

I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he does wrong, I will discipline him with a rod of men and with strokes of sons of mankind,

Now the Spirit of the Lord left Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord terrified him.

I will maintain My favor for him forever, And My covenant shall be confirmed to him.

I will not violate My covenant, Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.

Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of My servant David whom I chose, who kept My commandments and My statutes;but I will take the kingdom from his son’s hand and give it to you; that is, ten tribes.But to his son I will give one tribe, so that My servant David may always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, the city where I have chosen for Myself to put My name.

He also stripped off his clothes, and he too prophesied before Samuel and lay down naked all that day and all night. Therefore they say,“ Is Saul also among the prophets?”

‘ For I will protect this city to save it for My own sake, and for My servant David’s sake.’ ”

Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, According to the faithful mercies shown to David.

Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”

There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of armies will accomplish this.

As for the fact that He raised Him from the dead, never again to return to decay, He has spoken in this way:‘ I will give you the holy and faithful mercies of David.’Therefore, He also says in another Psalm:‘ You will not allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.’For David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, fell asleep, and was buried among his fathers and underwent decay;but He whom God raised did not undergo decay.
