I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands.

永恆主對我說：「是你兒子所羅門、他要建造我的殿、我的院子；因為我是揀選了他做我的兒子；是我要做他的父。

凡我所愛的、我就指責管教；所以你要發熱心，要悔改。

然而若受主審判，乃是受主懲罰管教，免得跟世人一同受定罪。

是我要做他的父，是他要做我的兒子；我必不使我堅固的愛離開他，像我使我堅固的愛離開你以前那位一樣；

我尋得了我的僕人大衛，用我的聖膏膏了他；我的手堅堅定定和他同在；我的膀臂也必使他堅固。仇敵不能以欺騙襲擊他，橫暴之輩不能苦害他。我必從他面前擊碎他的敵人，在他眼前擊敗那恨他的人。我的可信可靠和堅愛必與他同在；靠我的名、他的角就得以高舉。我必使他的左手掌握着大海，使他的右手擁有着大河。他呢、必呼叫我說：「你是我的父，是我的上帝，是拯救我、的磐石。」我呢、必立他為首生者，為地上君王之最高者。我的堅愛、我必為他保持到永遠；我的約對於他、是確定的。我必使他的後裔永久存在，使他的王位如天之壽命。倘若他子孫撇棄了我的律法，不照我的典章而行；倘若他們瀆犯了我的律例，不遵守我的誡命，我就用刑杖察罰他們的過犯，用鞭子責罰他們的罪孽；但我的堅愛、我必不向他除掉，我必不使我的可信可靠變成了詐偽。我必不瀆犯我的約，我嘴裏所說出的、我必不更改。我儘一次地指着自己的至聖來起誓：我決不向大衛說謊。他的後裔必存到永遠，他的王位在我面前必如日之恆，如月亮之永遠堅立，如天空之長久確定。』（細拉）

你心裏要知道、永恆主你的上帝在管教你，就像人管教兒子一樣。

因為是我與你同在，要拯救你，永恆主發神諭說；因為我必將所趕散你到的列國盡行毁滅；至於你呢、我卻不盡行毁滅；我要合乎常度地懲罰你，卻不能讓你免受刑罰。

而你們竟忘卻了那勸勉、那和你們、如同和兒子理論的話說：『我兒，主的管教你別小看；你受他指責、也別灰心；因為主所愛的、主就管教；他所承認的每一個兒子、他都鞭打』。為受管教而堅忍着吧！上帝是待你們做兒子呢。哪有兒子、而父親不管教的呢？你們若沒受眾子所與分的管教，便是私生子，不是兒子了。再者，我們有我們肉身之父管教我們，我們尚且尊敬他們，何況靈性之父，我們豈不更當順服他而活麼？他們呢、是在短暫日子裏照自己以為對的來管教；他呢、卻為了我們的益處、要使我們有分於他的聖善。一切管教、在當時似乎不是喜樂，而是憂愁；以後呢、卻給那些由此而受操練的人結出平安的果子、就是正義的果子、來。

『看哪，上帝所責打的、那人有福啊；故此全能者的懲罰、你不可輕看。

忽有聲音從天上說：『這是我所愛的兒子，我所喜悅的。』

永恆主啊，你所管教，你用你的律法所教訓、使他在患難日子能夠處之泰然，等到為惡人豫備的坑已經挖好的：這樣的人有福啊。

弟子啊，永恆主的管教你不可藐視；他的責備你不可憎厭；因為永恆主所愛的、他就責備；正如父親責備他所喜悅的兒子一樣。
