I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands.

凡我所愛者、我責而懲之、故宜奮然改悔、

其受鞫也、乃主懲我、免偕世定罪、

尋獲我僕大衛、膏以聖膏兮、我手恆與之偕、我臂必增其力、仇敵不得勒索之、惡黨不得困苦之兮、我必擊仆其敵、撻憾之者兮、我之信實慈惠、必與之偕、藉我之名、其角高舉兮、我使其手及於海、右手至於河兮、彼必呼我曰、爾為我父、我之上帝、我拯救之磐石兮、我必立之為冢子、地上至高之王兮、為之永存我慈惠、堅定我盟約兮、我必永延其裔、俾其位如天悠久兮、如其子孫違棄我法度、不遵我律例、玷辱我典章、不守我誡命、我必以杖責其愆尤、以鞭懲其罪戾兮、然我之慈惠、不盡追回、我之信實、不忍廢棄、不爽我約、不易我口所出兮、我指己聖而誓、一次而已、必不欺誑大衛兮、其裔永存、其位在於我前、如日之久、如月之恆、如上天之確證兮、○

當思爾上帝耶和華督責爾、如人督責其子、

耶和華曰、我與爾偕、以拯救爾、我必盡滅我散爾所至之邦、而不盡滅爾、惟從寬責爾、不能不罰爾焉、○

又忘勸爾之言、如諭子曰、吾子乎、主懲爾、勿輕視、受其譴、勿喪志、蓋主所愛者懲之、所納之子扑之、爾之忍乃為受懲、上帝待爾如子矣、焉有子而父不懲之者乎、夫懲眾所共也、而爾無之、則為私生、而非子矣、且我生身之父懲我、我尚敬之、況諸神之父、不更宜服之以得生乎、彼乃暫依己意而懲、惟此則為我之益、使我與其聖也、凡懲之之時、似非樂、而為憂、後則由懲生練而結和平之果、即義也、

上帝所懲者有福、故全能者之譴責、爾勿輕視、

自天有聲云、此我愛子、我所欣悅者、

耶和華歟、爾所懲責、訓以律者、其有福兮、脫之於患難、錫之以綏安、迨為惡人掘阱兮、

我子、勿輕耶和華之懲罰、勿厭其譴責、蓋耶和華責其所愛、如父於其所悅之子、
