I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands.

耶和華對我說：『你兒子所羅門必建造我的殿和院宇；因為我揀選他作我的子，我也必作他的父。

凡我所疼愛的，我就責備管教他；所以你要發熱心，也要悔改。

我們受審的時候，乃是被主懲治，免得我們和世人一同定罪。

我要作他的父，他要作我的子；並不使我的慈愛離開他，像離開在你以前的掃羅一樣。

我尋得我的僕人大衛，用我的聖膏膏他。我的手必使他堅立；我的膀臂也必堅固他。仇敵必不勒索他；凶惡之子也不苦害他。我要在他面前打碎他的敵人，擊殺那恨他的人。只是我的信實和我的慈愛要與他同在；因我的名，他的角必被高舉。我要使他的左手伸到海上，右手伸到河上。他要稱呼我說：你是我的父，是我的神，是拯救我的磐石。我也要立他為長子，為世上最高的君王。我要為他存留我的慈愛，直到永遠；我與他立的約必要堅定。我也要使他的後裔存到永遠，使他的寶座如天之久。倘若他的子孫離棄我的律法，不照我的典章行，背棄我的律例，不遵守我的誡命，我就要用杖責罰他們的過犯，用鞭責罰他們的罪孽。只是我必不將我的慈愛全然收回，也必不叫我的信實廢棄。我必不背棄我的約，也不改變我口中所出的。我一次指着自己的聖潔起誓：我決不向大衛說謊！他的後裔要存到永遠；他的寶座在我面前如日之恆一般，又如月亮永遠堅立，如天上確實的見證。（細拉）

你當心裏思想，耶和華－你神管教你，好像人管教兒子一樣。

因我與你同在，要拯救你，也要將所趕散你到的那些國滅絕淨盡，卻不將你滅絕淨盡，倒要從寬懲治你，萬不能不罰你。這是耶和華說的。

你們又忘了那勸你們如同勸兒子的話，說：我兒，你不可輕看主的管教，被他責備的時候也不可灰心；因為主所愛的，他必管教，又鞭打凡所收納的兒子。你們所忍受的，是神管教你們，待你們如同待兒子。焉有兒子不被父親管教的呢？管教原是眾子所共受的。你們若不受管教，就是私子，不是兒子了。再者，我們曾有生身的父管教我們，我們尚且敬重他，何況萬靈的父，我們豈不更當順服他得生嗎？生身的父都是暫隨己意管教我們；惟有萬靈的父管教我們，是要我們得益處，使我們在他的聖潔上有分。凡管教的事，當時不覺得快樂，反覺得愁苦；後來卻為那經練過的人結出平安的果子，就是義。

神所懲治的人是有福的！所以你不可輕看全能者的管教。

從天上有聲音說：「這是我的愛子，我所喜悅的。」

耶和華啊，你所管教、用律法所教訓的人是有福的！你使他在遭難的日子得享平安；惟有惡人陷在所挖的坑中。

我兒，你不可輕看耶和華的管教，也不可厭煩他的責備；因為耶和華所愛的，他必責備，正如父親責備所喜愛的兒子。
