I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands.

凡我所愛的，我都會責備、管教。因此，你要熱心起來，也要悔改。

主審判我們，是對我們的管教，免得我們和世人一同被定罪。

我找到了我的僕人大衛，用我的聖油膏立他。我的手必扶持他，我的臂膀必加給他力量。仇敵勝不過他，惡人不能欺壓他。我要當著他的面擊垮他的敵人，打倒恨他的人。我要以信實和慈愛待他，他必因我的名而充滿力量。我要使他左手掌管大海，右手統治江河。他要向我高呼，『你是我的父親，我的上帝，拯救我的磐石。』我要立他為我的長子，使他做天下至尊的君王。我要永遠用慈愛待他，我與他立的約永不更改。我要使他的後裔永無窮盡，讓他的王位與天同存。如果他的後代背棄我的律法，不遵行我的典章，觸犯我的律例，不守我的誡命，我就會因他們的罪用杖懲罰他們，用鞭子責打他們。但我不會收回我的慈愛，也不會背棄我的信實。我必不毀約，也不食言。因我曾憑自己的聖潔向大衛起誓，我絕無謊言。他的後裔必永無窮盡，他的王位必在我面前如日長存，又如天上亙古不變的月亮，永遠堅立。」（細拉）

你們心裡要明白，你們的上帝耶和華管教你們，如同父親管教兒子。

因為我與你們同在，要拯救你們。這是耶和華說的。我要徹底毀滅列國，就是我曾使你們流亡的地方。但我不會徹底毀滅你們，也不會饒過你們，我必公正地懲治你們。」

你們難道忘了那像勸勉兒子一樣勸勉你們的話嗎？「孩子啊，不可輕視主的管教，被祂責備的時候也不要灰心。因為主管教祂所愛的人，責罰祂收納的兒子。」你們要忍受管教，上帝對待你們如同對待自己的兒子。哪有兒子不受父親管教的呢？做子女的都會受管教，如果沒人管教你們，那你們就是私生子，不是兒子。再者，我們的生身父親管教我們，我們尚且敬重他們，何況是萬靈之父上帝管教我們，我們豈不更要順服祂並得到生命嗎？我們的生身父親是按自己以為好的標準暫時管教我們，但上帝是為了我們的益處而管教我們，使我們可以在祂的聖潔上有份。被管教的滋味絕不好受，當時都很痛苦，但事後那些受過管教的人會收穫公義和平安的果子。

「被上帝責備的人有福了，不可輕視全能者的管教。

又有聲音從天上傳來：「這是我的愛子，我甚喜悅祂。」

耶和華啊，蒙你管教並用律法訓誨的人有福了！你使他們在患難中有平安，惡人終必滅亡。

孩子啊，不可輕視耶和華的管教，也不可厭煩祂的責備。因為耶和華責備祂所愛的人，就像父親責備他所疼愛的孩子。
