迨爾年壽已滿、與爾列祖同寢、我必使爾所出之苗裔、所出之苗裔或作所生之子繼爾位、我亦必鞏固其國、

When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom.

Some day your life will come to an end. You will join the members of your family who have already died. Then I will make one of your own sons the next king after you. And I will make his kingdom secure.

When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.

For when you die and are buried with your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, your own offspring, and I will make his kingdom strong.

耶和华以信实向大卫起了誓，必不收回，他说：“我将从你亲生的后裔中，立一位坐在你的宝座上。如果你的子孙遵守我的约，以及我所教导他们的法度，他们的子孙也必坐在你的宝座上，直到永远。”

既然大卫是先知，也知道神曾向他起誓说，要从他的后裔中兴起一位坐在他的宝座上，

就是说，大卫虽然在自己的世代，遵行了神的计划之后就睡了，归到他祖先那里，并且经历了腐朽，

他的政权与平安必加增无穷；他必在大卫的宝座上统管他的国，以公正和公义使国坚立稳固，从今直到永远。万军之耶和华的热心必成就这事。

到那日，耶西的根必立起，作万民的旗帜；列国必寻求他，他安息之所必大有荣耀。

我要坚立他的后裔，直到永远；使他的宝座如天之久。

睡在尘土中的众人必醒来：有的得永远的生命，有的蒙受羞辱，永远被憎恶。

说：“关于基督，你们怎么看？他是谁的后裔呢？”他们说：“是大卫的后裔。”耶稣问他们：“那么，大卫藉着圣灵，怎么还称他为‘主’呢？大卫说：‘主对我主说：你坐在我的右边，等我把你的敌人放在你的脚下。’

耶和华的话语又临到他，说：“这人不会是你的继承人，只有你亲生的，才会是你的继承人。”

从耶西的树墩必发出一个嫩芽，从他的根而出的枝子必结果实。耶和华的灵必停留在那一位身上，就是智慧和悟性的灵，谋略和大能的灵，知识和敬畏耶和华的灵。他以敬畏耶和华为乐，审断不凭眼见，裁决不凭耳闻。

看哪，我告诉你们一个奥秘：我们并不是都要睡了，而是都要被改变，

我们既然相信耶稣死而复活了，照样也相信，那些藉着耶稣已经睡了的人，神将要把他们与耶稣一同带来。
