迨爾年壽已滿、與爾列祖同寢、我必使爾所出之苗裔、所出之苗裔或作所生之子繼爾位、我亦必鞏固其國、

When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom.

Some day your life will come to an end. You will join the members of your family who have already died. Then I will make one of your own sons the next king after you. And I will make his kingdom secure.

When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.

大卫的死期近了，就嘱咐他的儿子所罗门说：

耶和华实实在在向大卫起了誓，他必不会收回，他说：“我要从你的后裔中，立一位坐在你的王位上。如果你的子孙谨守我的约，和我教训他们的法度，他们的子孙也必永远坐在你的王位上。”

耶和华对摩西说：“看哪，你快要和你的列祖长眠了；这人民要起来，在他们所要去的地方，在那地的人中，与外族人的神行邪淫，离弃我，破坏我与他们所立的约。

他是先知，既然知道神向他起过誓，要从他的后裔中立一位，坐在他的宝座上，

你的寿数满足，归你列祖那里的时候，我必兴起你的后裔接替你，他是你的众子中的一位；我必坚立他的国。

“大卫在他自己的世代里，遵行了神的计划，就睡了，归回他列祖那里，见了朽坏。

他的政权与平安必无穷无尽地增加，他在大卫的宝座上治理他的国，以公平和公义使国坚立稳固，从现在直到永远。万军之耶和华的热心必成全这事。

否则，到我主我王与列祖同睡之后，我和我的儿子所罗门就要被算为罪人了。”

到那日，耶西的根必竖立起来，作万族的旗帜；列国的人必寻求他，他安息之所必大有荣耀。

我要使他的后裔存到永远，使他的王位好像天一样长久。

必有许多睡在尘土中的人醒过来，有的要得永生，有的要受羞辱，永远被憎恶。

“你们对基督的看法怎样？他是谁的子孙呢？”他们回答：“大卫的子孙。”耶稣就说：“那么大卫被圣灵感动，怎么会称他为主呢？他说：‘主对我的主说：你坐在我的右边，等我把你的仇敌放在你的脚下。’

耶和华的话又临到亚伯兰说：“这人必不会作你的继承人；你亲生的才会是你的继承人。”

从耶西的树干必生出一根嫩芽，从他的根而出的枝条必结果子。耶和华的灵必停留在他身上，就是智慧的灵和聪明的灵，谋略的灵和能力的灵，知识的灵和敬畏耶和华的灵。他必以敬畏耶和华为乐。他不凭眼睛所见的施行审判，也不凭耳朵所听的断定是非；

我现在把一个奥秘告诉你们：我们不是都要睡觉，而是在一剎那，眨眼之间，就是号角最后一次吹响的时候，我们都要改变；因为号角要吹响，死人要复活，成为不朽坏的，我们也要改变。

我们若信耶稣死了，又复活了，照样，也应该相信那些靠着耶稣已经睡了的人，神必定把他们和耶稣一同带来。
