大衛對米甲說：「我這是在耶和華面前做的，是他揀選了我，勝過揀選你父親和他全家，任命我作耶和華子民以色列的領袖，所以我要在耶和華面前歡慶。

大衛曰、我之為此、乃在耶和華前、彼簡我超於爾父、及其全家、立我為其民以色列之君、故我必舞蹈於其前、

大闢曰、我之為此、第欲尊崇耶和華耳。昔耶和華遺棄爾父、及其全家、簡我為民長、治理以色列族、故在耶和華前、我必踴躍。

大衛謂米甲曰、是在主前也、主棄爾父及其全家、選擇我、命我為主之民以色列君、我必舞蹈在主前、

David said to Michal,“ It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel— I will celebrate before the Lord.

David said to Michal,“ I did it to honor the Lord. He chose me instead of your father or anyone else in Saul’s family. The Lord appointed me ruler over his people Israel. I will celebrate to honor the Lord.

And David said to Michal,“ It was before the Lord, who chose me above your father and above all his house, to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord— and I will celebrate before the Lord.

David retorted to Michal,“ I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me above your father and all his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the Lord, so I celebrate before the Lord.

David replied to Michal,“ It was before the LORD who chose me over your father and his whole family to appoint me ruler over the LORD’s people Israel. I will dance before the LORD,

But David said to Michal,“ I was before the Lord, who preferred me to your father and to all his house, to appoint me as ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. So I will celebrate before the Lord!

So David said to Michal,“ It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord.

And David said unto Michal, It was before Jehovah, who chose me above thy father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of Jehovah, over Israel: therefore will I play before Jehovah.

David replied to Michal,“ I was dancing before the Lord who chose me over your father and his whole family to appoint me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel. I will celebrate before the Lord,

And David said unto Michal,[ It was] before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.

David replied to Michal,“ It was before the LORD! I was celebrating before the LORD, who chose me over your father and his entire family and appointed me as leader over the LORD’s people Israel.

David said to Michal,“ It was before Yahweh, who chose me above your father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of Yahweh, over Israel. Therefore I will celebrate before Yahweh.

現在你的國度必不長久。耶和華已經尋着一個合他心意的人，立他作百姓的君王，因為你沒有遵守耶和華所吩咐你的。」

撒母耳對他說：「今日耶和華使以色列國與你斷絕，把這國賜給另一個比你更好的人。

耶和華對撒母耳說：「我既厭棄掃羅作以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？你將膏油盛滿了角；來，我差遣你到伯利恆人耶西那裏去，因為我在他兒子中已看中了一個為我作王的。」

耶和華的約櫃進大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶裏往外觀看，見大衛王在耶和華面前踴躍跳舞，心裏就輕視他。

大衛和以色列全家在耶和華面前，隨着松木製造的各樣樂器和琴、瑟、鼓、鈸、鑼跳舞。

耶西就派人去叫他來。他面色紅潤，雙目清秀，容貌俊美。耶和華說：「起來，膏他，因為這就是他了。」

當時，你在異象中吩咐你的聖民，說：「我已把救助之力加在壯士身上，高舉了那從百姓中所揀選的人。我尋得我的僕人大衛，用我的聖膏膏他。

他揀選他的僕人大衛，從羊圈中將他召來，叫他不再牧放那些母羊，為要牧養自己的百姓雅各和自己的產業以色列。於是，他以純正的心牧養他們，用巧妙的手引導他們。

所以，你們或吃或喝，無論做甚麼，都要為榮耀神而做。

大衛穿着細麻布以弗得，在耶和華面前極力跳舞。

耶和華的約櫃進大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶裏往外觀看，見大衛王踴躍跳舞，心裏就輕視他。

他廢了掃羅之後，就興起大衛作他們的王，又為他作見證說：『我尋得耶西的兒子大衛，他是合我心意的人，他要遵行我一切的旨意。』
