尼希米對他們說：「你們去吃肥美的，喝甘甜的，有不能預備的就分給他，因為今日是我們主的聖日。你們不要憂愁，因靠耶和華而得的喜樂是你們的力量。」

第八日，王遣散百姓；他們都為王祝福。他們為耶和華向他僕人大衛和他百姓以色列所施的一切恩惠都心中喜樂，愉快地各回自己的帳棚去了。

猶大王希西家賜給會眾一千頭公牛、七千隻羊；眾領袖也賜給會眾一千頭公牛、一萬隻羊，並有許多祭司將自己分別為聖。

把燔祭拿走，再按着父家的班次分給眾百姓，照摩西書上所寫的獻給耶和華；獻牛也是這樣。他們按着常例，用火烤逾越節的羔羊。至於其他的聖物，他們用盆，用鍋，用釜煮了，速速地送給眾百姓。

所以有話說：「他升上高天的時候，擄掠了俘虜，將各樣的恩賜賞給人。」

約西亞從羣畜中賜給所有在場的百姓，三萬隻小綿羊和小山羊，三千頭牛，作逾越節的祭物；這些都是出自王的產業。約西亞的眾領袖也樂意把祭牲給百姓、祭司和利未人；管理神殿的希勒家、撒迦利亞、耶歇，把二千六百隻羔羊和三百頭牛給祭司作逾越節的祭物。

我凡事給你們作榜樣，叫你們知道應當這樣勞苦，扶助軟弱的人，又當記念主耶穌的話，說：『施比受更為有福。』」

七月二十三日，王差遣百姓回自己的帳棚去；他們為耶和華向大衛和所羅門，以及他百姓以色列所施的恩惠，心裏都歡喜快樂。

並且分給每一個以色列人，無論男女，每人一個餅，一個棗子餅，一個葡萄餅。

王的本分是在節期、初一、安息日，就是以色列家一切的盛會，奉上燔祭、素祭、澆酒祭。他要獻上贖罪祭、素祭、燔祭和平安祭，為以色列家贖罪。」
