尼希米对他们说：“你们去吃肥美的，喝甘甜的，有不能预备的就分给他，因为今日是我们主的圣日。你们不要忧愁，因靠耶和华而得的喜乐是你们的力量。”

第八日，王遣散百姓；他们都为王祝福。他们为耶和华向他仆人大卫和他百姓以色列所施的一切恩惠都心中喜乐，愉快地各回自己的帐棚去了。

犹大王希西家赐给会众一千头公牛、七千只羊；众领袖也赐给会众一千头公牛、一万只羊，并有许多祭司将自己分别为圣。

把燔祭拿走，再按着父家的班次分给众百姓，照摩西书上所写的献给耶和华；献牛也是这样。他们按着常例，用火烤逾越节的羔羊。至于其他的圣物，他们用盆，用锅，用釜煮了，速速地送给众百姓。

所以有话说：“他升上高天的时候，掳掠了俘虏，将各样的恩赐赏给人。”

约西亚从群畜中赐给所有在场的百姓，三万只小绵羊和小山羊，三千头牛，作逾越节的祭物；这些都是出自王的产业。约西亚的众领袖也乐意把祭牲给百姓、祭司和利未人；管理神殿的希勒家、撒迦利亚、耶歇，把二千六百只羔羊和三百头牛给祭司作逾越节的祭物。

我凡事给你们作榜样，叫你们知道应当这样劳苦，扶助软弱的人，又当记念主耶稣的话，说：‘施比受更为有福。’”

七月二十三日，王差遣百姓回自己的帐棚去；他们为耶和华向大卫和所罗门，以及他百姓以色列所施的恩惠，心里都欢喜快乐。

并且分给每一个以色列人，无论男女，每人一个饼，一个枣子饼，一个葡萄饼。

王的本分是在节期、初一、安息日，就是以色列家一切的盛会，奉上燔祭、素祭、浇酒祭。他要献上赎罪祭、素祭、燔祭和平安祭，为以色列家赎罪。”
