He was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom the Gittite.

He didn’t want to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom. Obed- Edom was from Gath.

So David was not willing to take the ark of the Lord into the city of David. But David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

So David decided not to move the Ark of the Lord into the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed edom of Gath.

So he was not willing to bring the ark of the LORD to the city of David; instead, he diverted it to the house of Obed-edom of Gath.

And David was unwilling to move the ark of the Lord into the city of David with him; but David took it aside to the house of Obed edom, the Gittite.

So David would not move the ark of the Lord with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

So David would not remove the ark of Jehovah unto him into the city of David; but David carried it aside into the house of Obed- edom the Gittite.

So he was not willing to move the ark of the Lord to the city of David; instead, he took it to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

So David was no longer willing to bring the ark of the LORD to be with him in the City of David. David left it in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

So David would not move Yahweh’s ark to be with him in David’s city; but David carried it aside into Obed- Edom the Gittite’s house.

俄別以東有幾個兒子；大的是示瑪雅，第二的是約薩拔，第三的是約亞，第四的是沙甲，第五的是拿坦業，第六的是亞米利，第七的是以薩迦，第八的是毘烏利太；因為上帝賜福與俄別以東。他的兒子示瑪雅生了幾個兒子，是掌管他們父親家的，因為他們都是有魄力英明的人。示瑪雅的兒子是俄得尼、利法益、俄備得、以利薩巴；以利薩巴的弟兄是有魄力的人；還有以利戶和西瑪迦。這些人都是俄別以東子孫中的人，很能幹會辦事的、六十二人、屬於俄別以東的。

王對迦特人乙太說：『你、你是外族人，而且你也是從你本地流亡而來的，為甚麼你也和我們一同來呢？你回去、和新王同住吧。

為首的是亞薩，其次是撒迦利雅、烏薛、示米拉末、耶歇、瑪他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄別以東、耶利、拿琴瑟等樂器，亞薩拿響鈸、大聲作樂。

同他們在一起的還有他們族弟兄做第二班：撒迦利雅、巴尼、烏薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、比拿雅、瑪西雅、瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、跟守門的俄別以東和耶利。

大衛打發兵眾出去，三分之一在約押手下，三分之一在洗魯雅的兒子、約押的兄弟、亞比篩手下，三分之一在迦特人乙太手下。王對兵眾說：『我也必定和你們一同出戰。』

於是大衛沒有將櫃運進大衛城到他那裏，卻轉而運到迦特人俄別以東的住宅。上帝的櫃在它自己的安置所、停在俄別以東住宅那裏三個月；永恆主賜福與俄別以東的家、和一切屬他的。

比錄人早先逃到基他音，就一直在那裏寄居、直到今日。
