So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.

He was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom the Gittite.

He didn’t want to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom. Obed- Edom was from Gath.

So David was not willing to take the ark of the Lord into the city of David. But David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

So David decided not to move the Ark of the Lord into the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed edom of Gath.

So he was not willing to bring the ark of the LORD to the city of David; instead, he diverted it to the house of Obed-edom of Gath.

And David was unwilling to move the ark of the Lord into the city of David with him; but David took it aside to the house of Obed edom, the Gittite.

So David would not move the ark of the Lord with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

So David would not remove the ark of Jehovah unto him into the city of David; but David carried it aside into the house of Obed- edom the Gittite.

So he was not willing to move the ark of the Lord to the city of David; instead, he took it to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

So David was no longer willing to bring the ark of the LORD to be with him in the City of David. David left it in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

So David would not move Yahweh’s ark to be with him in David’s city; but David carried it aside into Obed- Edom the Gittite’s house.

Moreover the sons of Obededom[ were], Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth,Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peulthai the eighth: for God blessed him.Also unto Shemaiah his son were sons born, that ruled throughout the house of their father: for they[ were] mighty men of valour.The sons of Shemaiah; Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad, whose brethren[ were] strong men, Elihu, and Semachiah.All these of the sons of Obededom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men for strength for the service,[ were] threescore and two of Obededom.

Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and abide with the king: for thou[ art] a stranger, and also an exile.

Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;

And with them their brethren of the second[ degree], Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, the porters.

And David sent forth a third part of the people under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people, I will surely go forth with you myself also.

So David brought not the ark[ home] to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.

And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day.)
