He was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom the Gittite.

So David was not willing to take the ark of the Lord into the city of David. But David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

So he was not willing to bring the ark of the LORD to the city of David; instead, he diverted it to the house of Obed-edom of Gath.

And David was unwilling to move the ark of the Lord into the city of David with him; but David took it aside to the house of Obed edom, the Gittite.

So David would not move the ark of the Lord with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

So David would not remove the ark of Jehovah unto him into the city of David; but David carried it aside into the house of Obed- edom the Gittite.

So he was not willing to move the ark of the Lord to the city of David; instead, he took it to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

So David was no longer willing to bring the ark of the LORD to be with him in the City of David. David left it in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

俄别．以东有几个儿子：长子是示玛雅、次子是约萨拔、三子是约亚，四子是沙甲、五子是拿坦业、六子是亚米利、七子是以萨迦、八子是毗乌利太；神实在赐福给俄别．以东。他的儿子示玛雅也生了几个儿子，都是管治他们的家族的，因为他们都是英勇的战士。示玛雅的儿子是俄得尼、利法益、俄备得和以利萨巴。以利萨巴的兄弟以利户和西玛迦都是勇士。这些人都是俄别．以东的子孙，他们和他们的儿子、兄弟，都是有能力办事的人。俄别．以东的子孙，共有六十二人。

王对迦特人以太说：“你为什么也与我们一同走呢？回去留在新王那里吧！因为你是个外族人，是个远离自己家乡逃到这里来的人。

领导的人是亚萨，其次是撒迦利雅、耶利、示米拉末、耶歇、玛他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄别．以东和耶利，他们鼓瑟弹琴，亚萨敲打响钹。

和他们一起的还有作第二班的，他们的亲族：撒迦利雅、便、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、乌尼、以利押、比拿雅、玛西雅、玛他提雅、以利斐利户、弥克尼雅，以及守门的俄别．以东和耶利。

大卫派遣众人出战：三分之一在约押手下，三分之一在约押的兄弟、洗鲁雅的儿子亚比筛手下，三分之一在迦特人以太手下。大卫对众人说：“我也必与你们一同出战。”

所以，大卫没有把约柜运到大卫城他自己那里去，却转运到迦特人俄别．以东的家里去。神的约柜存放在俄别．以东的家里三个月，耶和华赐福给俄别．以东的家和他的一切。
