俄别·以东的长子是示玛雅，次子是约萨拔，三子是约亚，四子是沙甲，五子是拿坦业，六子是亚米利，七子是以萨迦，八子是毗乌利太。上帝特别赐福俄别·以东。他儿子示玛雅有几个儿子都很能干，在各自的家族中做首领。他们是俄得尼、利法益、俄备得、以利萨巴。他们的亲族以利户和西玛迦也很能干。这些都是俄别·以东的子孙，他们和他们的儿子及亲族共有六十二人，都是能干称职的人。

王问迦特人以太说：“你为什么要跟我们一起逃难呢？回去留在新王那里吧！你是流亡到这里的外族人。

为首的是亚萨，其次是撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、玛他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄别·以东和耶利，他们鼓瑟弹琴，亚萨敲钹。

协助他们的亲族有撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、乌尼、以利押、比拿雅、玛西雅、玛他提雅、以利斐利户、弥克尼雅，以及守门的俄别·以东和耶利。

他兵分三队，一队由约押率领，一队由洗鲁雅的儿子、约押的兄弟亚比筛率领，一队由迦特人以太率领。大卫对部下说：“我必与你们一同出战”。

因此，大卫没有将约柜运到大卫城，而是把它运到迦特人俄别·以东家。上帝的约柜在俄别·以东家存放了三个月。耶和华使俄别·以东家及其拥有的一切都蒙福。
