其人不欲復宿、乃備二驢、攜妾啟行、至耶布斯即耶路撒冷相對之所、近耶布斯時、日將暮矣、僕謂主曰、請偏行、入耶布斯邑而宿、主曰、外族之邑、不屬以色列人者、我不入之、必往基比亞、

於是耶路撒冷王亞多尼洗德、遣人見希伯崙王何咸、耶末王毘蘭、拉吉王雅非亞、伊磯倫王底璧、告之曰、

夫此麥基洗德撒冷王也、為至高上帝之祭司、昔遇亞伯拉罕攻殺諸王而旋、則祝之、

大衛與以色列眾至耶路撒冷、即耶布斯、時、耶布斯土人居彼、耶布斯人謂大衛曰、爾必不得入此、然大衛取錫安之保障、即大衛城、大衛曰、先攻耶布斯人者、必為首為長、洗魯雅子約押先上、遂為首、大衛居其保障、故稱曰大衛城、大衛自米羅起、四周築城、其餘乃約押修葺、大衛日漸昌大、萬軍之耶和華偕之也、○
