They brought the head of Ish- Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king,“ Here is the head of Ish- Bosheth son of Saul, your enemy, who tried to kill you. This day the Lord has avenged my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

They brought the head of Ish- Bosheth to King David at Hebron. They said to him,“ Here’s the head of Ish- Bosheth, the son of Saul. Saul was your enemy. He often tried to kill you. Today the Lord has paid back Saul and his family. He has let you get even with them. You are our king and master.”

When they arrived at Hebron, they presented Ishbosheth’s head to David.“ Look!” they exclaimed to the king.“ Here is the head of Ishbosheth, the son of your enemy Saul who tried to kill you. Today the Lord has given my lord the king revenge on Saul and his entire family!”

They brought Ish-bosheth’s head to David at Hebron and said to the king,“ Here’s the head of Ish-bosheth son of Saul, your enemy who intended to take your life. Today the LORD has granted vengeance to my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

Then they brought the head of Ish bosheth to David at Hebron, and said to the king,“ Behold, the head of Ish bosheth the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life; so the Lord has given my lord the king vengeance this day on Saul and his descendants.”

And they brought the head of Ishbosheth to David at Hebron, and said to the king,“ Here is the head of Ishbosheth, the son of Saul your enemy, who sought your life; and the Lord has avenged my Lord the king this day of Saul and his descendants.”

And they brought the head of Ish- bosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold, the head of Ish- bosheth, the son of Saul, thine enemy, who sought thy life; and Jehovah hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.

“即使有人起来追赶你，寻索你的性命，我主的性命却必裹藏在耶和华你的神生命的囊中。至于你仇敌的性命，耶和华必甩出去，像从投石索的兜囊中甩出去那样。

大卫知道扫罗已经出来寻索他的性命，那时大卫在西弗旷野的何列什。

扫罗又派人去查看大卫，说：“你们把他连床一起抬到我这里来，我好杀他。”

大卫的部下对他说：“耶和华曾对你说：‘看哪，我要将你的仇敌交在你手中，你可以按你看为好的对待他。’看，今天就是了！”于是大卫起来，悄悄割下扫罗外袍的衣摆。

扫罗掷出长矛，心里说：“我要把大卫刺穿，钉在墙上。”但大卫两次都从他面前躲开了。

约拿单告诉大卫说：“我父亲扫罗想要杀你，所以明天早晨你要小心，留在一个隐秘处躲藏。我会出去，到你所在的那田野中，站在我父亲旁边，对我父亲说起你。我看到什么，就会告诉你。”约拿单向父亲扫罗说大卫的好话，对他说：“王不要得罪你的仆人大卫，因为他没有得罪过你；事实上，他所做的对你有极大的好处。他冒着生命危险，击杀了那非利士人；耶和华为全以色列施行了大拯救。那时你看见了就欢喜，现在你为什么要犯罪流无辜人的血，无故杀大卫呢？”扫罗听了约拿单的话，就起誓：“我指着耶和华的永生起誓：我绝不杀他。”于是约拿单叫来大卫，把这些对话都告诉了他；然后约拿单把大卫带到扫罗那里，他就像从前那样侍立在扫罗面前。此后，再次发生战争，大卫出征，与非利士人争战。他大大击杀他们，他们就在他面前逃跑。从耶和华那里来的祸害之灵又临到扫罗，那时他坐在宫殿里，手里拿着长矛，而大卫正在手弹竖琴。扫罗想用长矛把大卫刺穿，钉在墙上，但大卫从扫罗面前躲开了，长矛刺入墙壁。当夜大卫就逃跑脱身了。扫罗派人到大卫家去监视他，要在清晨杀他。大卫的妻子米甲警告大卫说：“你今夜如果不逃命，明天就会被杀死。”

上天哪、圣徒们、使徒们、先知们哪，你们应当因她欢喜！因为神已经向她施行审判，为你们惩罚她！”

说：“起来，带着孩子和他的母亲回以色列地去，因为那些追索这孩子性命的人已经死了。”

他们大声呼喊说：“神圣、真实的主啊！你不施行审判，不为我们的血向住在地上的人讨回公道，还要多久呢？”

而那些寻索要毁灭我性命的人，他们必下到地的深处；他们必被交在刀剑之下，成为豺狗的食物。

难道神绝不会给那些他所拣选、日夜向他呼求的人主持公道吗？难道神会耽误帮助他们吗？我告诉你们：他会很快地给他们主持公道。不过人子回来的时候，难道在地上能找到这样的信仰吗？”

我的舌头也要终日述说你的公义，因为那些谋害我的已经抱愧蒙羞。

大卫逃离拉玛的纳约特，来见约拿单，说：“我做了什么？我的罪孽是什么？我在你父亲面前犯了什么罪，以致他要寻索我的性命呢？”
