They brought the head of Ish- Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king,“ Here is the head of Ish- Bosheth son of Saul, your enemy, who tried to kill you. This day the Lord has avenged my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

They brought the head of Ish- Bosheth to King David at Hebron. They said to him,“ Here’s the head of Ish- Bosheth, the son of Saul. Saul was your enemy. He often tried to kill you. Today the Lord has paid back Saul and his family. He has let you get even with them. You are our king and master.”

They brought Ish-bosheth’s head to David at Hebron and said to the king,“ Here’s the head of Ish-bosheth son of Saul, your enemy who intended to take your life. Today the LORD has granted vengeance to my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

Then they brought the head of Ish bosheth to David at Hebron, and said to the king,“ Behold, the head of Ish bosheth the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life; so the Lord has given my lord the king vengeance this day on Saul and his descendants.”

And they brought the head of Ishbosheth to David at Hebron, and said to the king,“ Here is the head of Ishbosheth, the son of Saul your enemy, who sought your life; and the Lord has avenged my Lord the king this day of Saul and his descendants.”

And they brought the head of Ish- bosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold, the head of Ish- bosheth, the son of Saul, thine enemy, who sought thy life; and Jehovah hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.

你就是被人追殺，也會在你的上帝耶和華的保護下安然無恙。你敵人的性命卻要像石頭一樣被耶和華用投石器拋出去。

大衛在西弗曠野的何利沙得知掃羅要來殺他。

掃羅又派人去見大衛，並吩咐說：「把他連床一起抬來，我好殺他。」

大衛的部下對大衛說：「耶和華說過要把你的仇敵交在你手中，任你處置，今天機會來了。」大衛就爬過去，偷偷割了掃羅外袍的一角。

他突然把矛投向大衛，心想：「我要把他刺透，釘在牆上。」他投了兩次，大衛都躲過了。

撒督的兒子亞希瑪斯對約押說：「請讓我跑回去向王稟告，讓王知道耶和華已從仇敵手中救了他。」

便告訴他，說：「我父親要殺你，明天早上你要小心，找個僻靜的地方躲起來。我會出去和父親站在你藏身的田間，跟他提你的事，然後把消息告訴你。」約拿單就在父親面前替大衛說好話，他說：「王不要傷害大衛，他從來沒有對不起王，他所做的使王大受益處。他冒著生命危險去殺非利士人，耶和華使以色列人大獲全勝，當時你看見了，非常歡喜，現在為什麼要犯罪，枉殺無辜的大衛呢？」掃羅聽了約拿單的話，就憑永活的耶和華起誓說：「我不殺大衛。」約拿單叫來大衛，把經過告訴他，帶他去見掃羅，大衛又像以前一樣伺候掃羅。後來，戰事再度爆發，大衛領兵與非利士人交戰，大敗敵人，殺得他們四散潰逃。一天，掃羅手裡拿著矛正坐在家中，從耶和華那裡來的邪靈降臨在掃羅身上。大衛正在彈琴，掃羅想用矛把大衛刺透，釘在牆上，大衛躲開了，矛插在了牆上。大衛當晚逃走了。掃羅派人監視大衛的家，要在早上殺死他。大衛的妻子米甲警告他說：「如果你今晚不逃命，明早必死無疑。」

上天啊，眾聖徒、眾使徒和眾先知啊，為她的下場歡樂吧！因為上帝已經向她施行報應，為你們伸冤了。」

這時，古示人也到了，他說：「我有好消息向我主我王稟告，今日耶和華已經從一切反叛之人手中救了我主我王。」

「起來，帶著孩子和祂母親回以色列去吧！因為要殺害孩子的人已經死了。」

他們大聲喊著說：「聖潔真實的主宰啊，還要等多久呢？為什麼你還不審判地上那些屠殺我們的人，為我們伸冤呢？」

那些圖謀毀滅我的人必下到陰間。他們必喪身刀下，成為豺狼的食物。

祂是為我伸冤的上帝，祂使列邦臣服於我。

難道上帝聽到祂揀選的人晝夜呼求，不替他們伸冤嗎？難道祂會一直耽延不理嗎？我告訴你們，祂必很快為他們伸冤。不過當人子來的時候，在世上找得到有信心的人嗎？」

我要終日向人述說你的公義，因為那些想害我的人已經蒙羞受辱。

大衛從拉瑪的拿約逃出來去見約拿單，問他：「我做了什麼？犯了什麼罪？我什麼地方對不起你父親，他竟追殺我？」
