And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

王謂臣僕曰、今日在以色列中殞亡元帥元帥或作牧伯之大丈夫、爾曹豈不知乎、

Then the king said to his men,“ Do you not realize that a commander and a great man has fallen in Israel this day?

The king spoke to his men. He said,“ Don’t you realize that a great commander has died in Israel today?

And the king said to his servants,“ Do you not know that a prince and a great man has fallen this day in Israel?

Then King David said to his officials,“ Don’t you realize that a great commander has fallen today in Israel?

Then the king said to his soldiers,“ You must know that a great leader has fallen in Israel today.

Then the king said to his servants,“ Do you not know that a leader and a great man has fallen in Israel this day?

Then the king said to his servants,“ Do you not know that a prince and a great man has fallen this day in Israel?

And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

Then the king said to his soldiers,“ You must know that a great leader has fallen in Israel today.

Then the king said to his servants,“ Do you not realize that a great leader has fallen this day in Israel?

The king said to his servants,“ Don’t you know that a prince and a great man has fallen today in Israel?

But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul’s host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;

Great men are not[ always] wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

And the name of Saul’s wife[ was] Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the captain of his host[ was] Abner, the son of Ner, Saul’s uncle.And Kish[ was] the father of Saul; and Ner the father of Abner[ was] the son of Abiel.

And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose[ is] the land? saying[ also], Make thy league with me, and, behold, my hand[ shall be] with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee.
