Now when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into an inner chamber, as if to speak with him privately. And there, to avenge the blood of his brother Asahel, Joab stabbed him in the stomach, and he died.

以實馬利與同至十人偕起、各持利刃、於席間擊其大利殺之、斯人也、巴比倫王所立為方伯者。

又曰、陰擊同儕者、當服咒詛、民必群應曰、固心所願。

尼大尼子以實馬利哭泣於途、出密士巴境迎之、曰、請爾來見亞希甘子其大利、既至邑中、尼大尼子以實馬利率眾殺之、投尸於井、

追襲押尼耳、不偏於左、不偏於右。押尼耳回顧、曰、爾為亞撒黑乎。曰、是也。曰盍偏於左、盍偏於右、可執少者一人、褫其戎服。亞撒黑仍追不舍。押尼耳曰、姑舍我、毋庸追、恐我擊爾、爾若仆地、我何面目、與爾兄相見。弗聽、仍追不舍。押尼耳曳戟刺之、洞其腹、從其後出、亞撒黑殞沒、眾至其所、乃止。
