Now when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into an inner chamber, as if to speak with him privately. And there, to avenge the blood of his brother Asahel, Joab stabbed him in the stomach, and he died.

When Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him to one side. He brought him into an inside room. Joab acted as if he wanted to speak to him in private. But he really wanted to get even with him. That’s because Abner had spilled the blood of Joab’s brother Asahel. So Joab stabbed Abner in the stomach, and he died.

约押对亚玛撒说：“我的弟兄，你平安吗？”他就用右手抓住亚玛撒的胡子，要亲吻他。亚玛撒没有防备约押手里拿着的刀；约押用刀刺入他的肚腹，他的肠子流在地上，约押没有再刺，他就死了。约押和他弟弟亚比筛往前追赶比基利的儿子示巴。

耶和华必使约押的血归到他自己头上，因为他击杀两个比他又公义又良善的人，就是尼珥的儿子以色列的元帅押尼珥和益帖的儿子犹大的元帅亚玛撒，用刀杀了他们，我父亲大卫却不知道。

尼探雅的儿子以实玛利和同他来的那十个人起来，用刀击杀沙番的孙子，亚希甘的儿子基大利，就是巴比伦王所立为当地省长的，把他杀死。

“‘暗中击杀邻舍的，必受诅咒！’众百姓要说：‘阿们！’

尼探雅的儿子以实玛利从米斯巴出来迎接他们，随走随哭，遇见了他们，就对他们说：“你们可以到亚希甘的儿子基大利那里。”他们到了城中，尼探雅的儿子以实玛利和与他一起的人就把他们杀了，丢在坑里。

亚撒黑追赶押尼珥，直追赶他不偏左右。押尼珥回头说：“亚撒黑，是你吗？”他说：“是我。”押尼珥对他说：“你转左或转右，去抓一个年轻人，剥去他的战衣吧。”亚撒黑却不肯转开而不追赶他。押尼珥又对亚撒黑说：“转开，不要再追我了！我何必把你击杀在地上呢？我若杀了你，怎么有脸见你哥哥约押呢？”亚撒黑仍不肯转开，押尼珥就用回马枪刺入他的肚腹，甚至枪从背后穿出，亚撒黑就仆倒在那里，当场死了。众人赶到亚撒黑仆倒而死的地方，就都站住。
