Now when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into an inner chamber, as if to speak with him privately. And there, to avenge the blood of his brother Asahel, Joab stabbed him in the stomach, and he died.

你也要知道洗魯雅的兒子約押對我所行的，就是對以色列的兩個元帥：尼珥的兒子押尼珥和益帖的兒子亞瑪撒所行的。他殺了他們，在和平的時候流他們的血，像作戰時一樣，把戰爭的血染在他腰間所束的帶子上和腳上所穿的鞋子上。

約押對亞瑪撒說：“我的兄弟，你好嗎？”約押用右手握住亞瑪撒的鬍子，要與他親吻。亞瑪撒沒有防備約押手中的刀，約押用這刀刺進他的肚子，他的內臟就流在地上。不用再刺第二刀，亞瑪撒就死了。約押和他的兄弟亞比篩繼續追趕比基利的兒子示巴。

耶和華必使約押流無辜人的血的罪歸到他自己頭上，因為他擊殺了兩個比他又公義又良善的人，就是用刀殺了以色列的元帥尼珥的兒子押尼珥，和猶大的元帥益帖的兒子亞瑪撒，這事我的父親大衛一點都不知道。

尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利和與他一起的那十個人就起來，用刀襲擊沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利，就是巴比倫王指派管理那地的，把他殺掉。

“‘暗中殺害鄰舍的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’

尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利從米斯巴出來迎接他們，邊走邊哭，遇見了他們，就對他們說：“請你們來見亞希甘的兒子基大利！”他們到了城中，尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利和與他一起的人，就把他們殺了，扔在坑裡。

亞撒黑追趕押尼珥，緊緊地跟著他，不偏左，也不偏右。押尼珥往後瞧著，說：“你是亞撒黑嗎？”他回答：“我正是。”押尼珥對他說：“你或轉左或轉右，抓住一個年輕人，奪去他的武器吧！”可是亞撒黑不願意離開不追趕他。押尼珥再一次對亞撒黑說：“你離開，別追趕我！我為甚麼要把你砍倒在地上呢？以後怎麼還有臉見你的哥哥約押呢？”亞撒黑不肯離開，所以押尼珥就用槍的尾端刺入了他的肚子，槍從他的背後穿出。亞撒黑仆倒在那裡，當場死了。所有來到亞撒黑倒斃的地方的人，都站住不動。
