Now do it! For the Lord promised David,‘ By my servant David I will rescue my people Israel from the hand of the Philistines and from the hand of all their enemies.’”

撒母耳曰。爾之同儔、較爾尤善、爾為以色列王、自今以後耶和華將絕爾國祚、以畀同儔。

昔耶和華誓、移掃羅國祚、立大闢為王、治以色列族與猶大族、自但及別是巴、今我亦將助之、否、則願上帝降罰於我。

維昔上帝、曰、臣僕大闢、余所遴選、與之盟約兮、子孫昌熾、國祚綿長兮、

明日斯時、我遣便雅憫人就爾、爾必沐以膏、使為以色列族長、拯我民於非利士人手、蓋民呼籲於上、而我垂顧之。

在彼必使大闢崢嶸厥角、沐以膏者、歷代有光兮。敵必蒙羞、彼必冠冕、赫赫榮華兮。

遂召之至、其容赤色、雙眸炯然、丰采甚都。耶和華曰、斯人是也。速沐以膏。撒母耳取角中之膏以沐之、兄弟咸睹、自是以後、耶和華之神感大闢、撒母耳啟行、歸於拉馬。○

耶和華謂撒母耳曰、掃羅為以色列王、我不永其祚、汝為懷憂、伊於何底。可盛膏於角、我將遣爾至伯利恆人耶西所、其眾子中我簡其一、立之為王。

有司多信之、而畏𠵽唎㘔人、恐見逐於會堂、故不敢言、蓋其喜人之榮己、過於上帝之榮己也、○

昔爾顯厥異象、諭爾愛僕、曰、維彼傑士、余所眷佑、在兆民間、余遴選之、登庸之兮、臣僕大闢、既為我得、沐以聖膏兮、余展能力、使之鞏固兮。維彼仇敵、毋許迫索之兮、維彼惡黨、毋許困苦之兮、有敵之者、使之敗北、有憾之者、降以災害兮、

今爾不守厥命、故爾國祚不永耶和華更簡一人、合乎其意、使為民長。
