Now do it! For the Lord promised David,‘ By my servant David I will rescue my people Israel from the hand of the Philistines and from the hand of all their enemies.’”

我必使大卫的后裔在那里做王，我必为我所膏立的预备明灯。我必使他的仇敌满面羞愧，但他头上的王冠必光芒四射。”

耶西就派人去叫他回来。他面色红润，眉清目秀，相貌英俊。耶和华说：“就是他，起来膏立他吧。”撒母耳就拿出盛膏油的角，当着他哥哥们的面膏立他。从那天起，耶和华的灵降在大卫身上。事后，撒母耳回拉玛去了。

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我已经拒绝让扫罗做以色列王了，你还要为他哀伤多久呢？把你的角盛满膏油，我要差遣你到伯利恒的耶西那里，我已选了他的一个儿子做王。”

虽然这样，仍有很多犹太的官员信了耶稣，只是在法利赛人面前不敢公开承认，因为害怕会被赶出会堂。因为他们爱从世人而来的荣耀，胜过爱从上帝而来的荣耀。

你曾在异象中对你忠心的子民说：“我已把力量赐给一位勇士，已擢升我在民中拣选的人。我找到了我的仆人大卫，用我的圣油膏立他。我的手必扶持他，我的臂膀必加给他力量。仇敌胜不过他，恶人不能欺压他。我要当着他的面击垮他的敌人，打倒恨他的人。

但现在你的王位不能长久了，耶和华已经找到一个合祂心意的人，要立他做百姓的君王。因为你没有遵守耶和华的命令。”
