And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul’s daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

“ Good,” said David.“ I will make an agreement with you. But I demand one thing of you: Do not come into my presence unless you bring Michal daughter of Saul when you come to see me.”

“ Good,” said David.“ I will make a covenant with you. But there’s one thing I want you to do. Bring Saul’s daughter Michal to me. Don’t come to see me unless she’s with you.”

And he said,“ Good; I will make a covenant with you. But one thing I require of you; that is, you shall not see my face unless you first bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come to see my face.”

“ All right,” David replied,“ but I will not negotiate with you unless you bring back my wife Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come.”

David replied,“ Good, I will make a covenant with you. However, there’s one thing I require of you: You will not see my face unless you first bring Saul’s daughter Michal when you come to see me.”

And he said,“ Good! I will make a covenant with you, only I require one thing of you, namely, that you shall not see my face unless you first bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come to see me.”

And David said,“ Good, I will make a covenant with you. But one thing I require of you: you shall not see my face unless you first bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come to see my face.”

And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee; but one thing I require of thee: that is, thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

David replied,“ Good, I will make a covenant with you. However, there’s one thing I require of you: Do not appear before me unless you bring Saul’s daughter Michal here when you come to see me.”

So David said,“ Good! I will make an agreement with you. I ask only one thing from you. You will not see my face unless you bring Saul’s daughter Michal when you come to visit me.”

He said,“ Good. I will make a treaty with you, but one thing I require of you. That is, you will not see my face unless you first bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come to see my face.”

And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother[ be] with you.

And thou saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more.

So Abner came to David to Hebron, and twenty men with him. And David made Abner and the men that[ were] with him a feast.And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine heart desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from[ pursuing] a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner[ was] not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.When Joab and all the host that[ was] with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.

Saul also sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, tomorrow thou shalt be slain.So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.And Michal took an image, and laid[ it] in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’[ hair] for his bolster, and covered[ it] with a cloth.And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He[ is] sick.And Saul sent the messengers[ again] to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.And when the messengers were come in, behold,[ there was] an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats’[ hair] for his bolster.And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?

And Michal Saul’s daughter loved David: and they told Saul, and the thing pleased him.And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in[ the one of] the twain.And Saul commanded his servants,[ saying], Commune with David secretly, and say, Behold, the king hath delight in thee, and all his servants love thee: now therefore be the king’s son in law.And Saul’s servants spake those words in the ears of David. And David said, Seemeth it to you[ a] light[ thing] to be a king’s son in law, seeing that I[ am] a poor man, and lightly esteemed?And the servants of Saul told him, saying, On this manner spake David.And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king’s enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king’s son in law: and the days were not expired.Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king’s son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.And Saul saw and knew that the LORD[ was] with David, and[ that] Michal Saul’s daughter loved him.

And we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man’s face, except our youngest brother[ be] with us.

And it came to pass,[ as] the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
