自東至西之迦南人、亞摩哩人、赫人、比哩洗人、居山之耶布士人、密士巴地。黑門山麓之希未人。

亞庇米力與厥軍長、非各謂亞伯拉罕曰、汝凡所為、上帝佑之。今當指上帝以誓、毋欺我及我子孫、以我所厚待爾者、爾亦如是待我、以及爾所旅斯土之民。亞伯拉罕曰、我誓之。有井泉為亞庇米力僕所據、亞伯拉罕諫亞庇米力。亞庇米力曰、是誰所作歟、吾未嘗知也、爾弗告我、迨於今日、我亦罔聞。亞伯拉罕以牛羊饋亞庇米力、而相結約。更以牝羔七、置於一處。亞庇米力曰、爾置七牝羔一處、曷故。曰、我鑿此井、以七羔饋爾為憑。以二人相誓於彼、故名其地為別是巴、既誓於別是巴、亞庇米力與厥軍長非各啟行、歸非利士地。○亞伯拉罕植林木於別是巴禱告耶和華、永生之上帝。

軍長約押侍側王諭之曰、爾遍行以色列族支派、自但至別是巴、核其民數、反而告我。
