Then Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army rose up and returned to the land of the Philistines.Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba and called there on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.

So the king said to Joab, the commander of the army, who was with him,“ Go through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, and number the people, that I may know the number of the people.”
