Tear your hearts, not just your clothes, and return to the Lord your God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, rich in faithful love, and He relents from sending disaster.Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him, so you can offer grain and wine to the Lord your God.

Then He came a third time and said to them,“ Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The time has come. Look, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Make an appeal to Yahweh. There has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. I will let you go; you don’t need to stay any longer.”

I will remove the blood from their mouths and the detestable things from between their teeth. Then they too will become a remnant for our God; they will become like a clan in Judah and Ekron like the Jebusites.

The Lord relented concerning this.“ It will not happen,” He said.

At one moment I might announce concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will uproot, tear down, and destroy it.However, if that nation I have made an announcement about turns from its evil, I will relent concerning the disaster I had planned to do to it.At another time I announce that I will build and plant a nation or a kingdom.However, if it does what is evil in My sight by not listening to My voice, I will relent concerning the good I had said I would do to it.

Gad came to David that day and said to him,“ Go up and set up an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.”

Lord, I have heard the report about You; Lord, I stand in awe of Your deeds. Revive Your work in these years; make it known in these years. In Your wrath remember mercy!

So the Lord relented concerning the disaster He said He would bring on His people.
