Gad went to David and told him,“ Shall seven years of famine come upon your land? Or shall you flee for three months from your enemy with him in hot pursuit? Or shall there be three days of plague in your land? Now decide what I should tell the one who sent me.”

于是迦得来见大卫，对他说：“你愿意国中有七年的饥荒呢？是在你敌人面前逃跑，被追赶三个月呢？是在你国中有三日的瘟疫呢？现在你要揣摩思想，我好回复那差我来的。”

于是迦得来到大卫那里告诉他，问他：“你要国中有七年的饥荒呢？或是你在敌人面前逃跑，被追赶三个月呢？或是在你国中有三日的瘟疫呢？现在你要考虑思量，我怎样去回覆那差我来的。”

迦得就来见大卫，对他说：“你愿意国内有七年饥荒呢？还是被敌人追杀三个月呢？还是国内发生三天瘟疫呢？请你考虑好后告诉我，我好回复那差我来的。”

于是迦得来见大卫，问他说：“你要国中三年（按照《马索拉文本》，“三年”作“七年”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译；参代上21:12）的饥荒呢？或是要在你敌人面前逃跑，被追赶三个月呢？或是要国中有三天的瘟疫呢？现在你要想想，决定我该用什么话回覆那差我来的。”

於是迦得來見大衛，對他說：「你願意國中有七年的饑荒呢？是在你敵人面前逃跑，被追趕三個月呢？是在你國中有三日的瘟疫呢？現在你要揣摩思想，我好回覆那差我來的。」

於是迦得來見大衛，通知他，問他說：『你願意你這地有三年饑荒呢？還是你在敵人面前逃跑、而他追趕着你三個月呢？抑或在你這地有三天的瘟疫呢？現在你要思想、要看清楚我該用甚麼話去回覆那差遣我的。』

迦得就來見大衛，向他傳告說：「你要國中遭受饑荒七年，或被敵人追逼逃亡三個月，還是國中有瘟疫三天呢？現在你要想好，看看我應該怎樣回話給派遣我來的那一位。」

迦得遂詣大衛曰、或饑饉臨於爾土七年、或為敵追襲遁逃三月、或疫癘流行爾國三日、爾其思之、俾我覆遣我者、

伽得告大闢曰、或饑饉臨於爾土、歷至七年、或為敵追襲、歷至三月、或瘟疫流行爾國、歷至三日、爾其思之、俾我反告遣我者。

So Gad went to David and said to him,“ Shall there come on you three years of famine in your land? Or three months of fleeing from your enemies while they pursue you? Or three days of plague in your land? Now then, think it over and decide how I should answer the one who sent me.”

So Gad went to David. He said to him,“ Take your choice. Do you want three years when there won’t be enough food in your land? Or do you want three months when you will run away from your enemies while they chase you? Or do you want three days when there will be a plague in your land? Think it over. Then take your pick. Tell me how to answer the one who sent me.”

So Gad came to David and told him, and said to him,“ Shall three years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ pestilence in your land? Now consider, and decide what answer I shall return to him who sent me.”

So Gad came to David and asked him,“ Will you choose three years of famine throughout your land, three months of fleeing from your enemies, or three days of severe plague throughout your land? Think this over and decide what answer I should give the Lord who sent me.”

So Gad went to David, told him the choices, and asked him,“ Do you want three years of famine to come on your land, to flee from your foes three months while they pursue you, or to have a plague in your land three days? Now, consider carefully what answer I should take back to the one who sent me.”

So Gad came to David and told him, and said to him,“ Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee for three months before your enemies while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ of plague in your land? Now consider and see what answer I shall return to Him who sent me.”

So Gad came to David and told him; and he said to him,“ Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or shall you flee three months before your enemies, while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ plague in your land? Now consider and see what answer I should take back to Him who sent me.”

So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thy foes while they pursue thee? or shall there be three days’ pestilence in thy land? now advise thee, and consider what answer I shall return to him that sent me.

So Gad went to David, told him the choices, and asked him,“ Do you want three years of famine to come on your land, to flee from your foes three months while they pursue you, or to have a plague in your land three days? Now, think it over and decide what answer I should take back to the One who sent me.”

So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days’ pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.

So Gad came to David, and told him, and said to him,“ Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ pestilence in your land? Now answer, and consider what answer I shall return to him who sent me.”

three years of famine, or three months being chased by your enemies and struck down by their swords, or three days being struck down by the LORD, during which a plague will invade the land and the LORD’s messenger will destroy throughout Israel’s territory.’ Now, decide what I should tell the one who sent me.”

Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As certainly as the LORD God of Israel lives( whom I serve), there will be no dew or rain in the years ahead unless I give the command.”The LORD told him:“ Leave here and travel eastward. Hide out in the Kerith Valley near the Jordan.Drink from the stream; I have already told the ravens to bring you food there.”So he did as the LORD told him; he went and lived in the Kerith Valley near the Jordan.The ravens would bring him bread and meat each morning and evening, and he would drink from the stream.After a while, the stream dried up because there had been no rain in the land.

I will bring on you an avenging sword, a covenant vengeance. Although you will gather together into your cities, I will send pestilence among you and you will be given into enemy hands.

During David’s reign there was a famine for three consecutive years. So David inquired of the LORD. The LORD said,“ It is because of Saul and his bloodstained family, because he murdered the Gibeonites.”

“ The LORD will allow you to be struck down before your enemies; you will attack them from one direction but flee from them in seven directions and will become an object of terror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

Your strength will be used up in vain, your land will not give its yield, and the trees of the land will not produce their fruit.

I for my part will do this to you: I will inflict horror on you, consumption and fever, which diminish eyesight and drain away the vitality of life. You will sow your seed in vain because your enemies will eat it.I will set my face against you. You will be struck down before your enemies, those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when there is no one pursuing you.

They will besiege all of your villages until all of your high and fortified walls collapse– those in which you put your confidence throughout the land. They will besiege all your villages throughout the land the LORD your God has given you.

The LORD will afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors, eczema, and scabies, all of which cannot be healed.

“‘ As for the ones who remain among you, I will bring despair into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a blowing leaf will pursue them, and they will flee as one who flees the sword and fall down even though there is no pursuer.They will stumble over each other as those who flee before a sword, though there is no pursuer, and there will be no one to take a stand for you before your enemies.

He will afflict you with weakness, fever, inflammation, infection, sword, blight, and mildew; these will attack you until you perish.

The LORD will afflict you in your knees and on your legs with painful, incurable boils– from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.

“ Son of man, suppose a country sins against me by being unfaithful, and I stretch out my hand against it, cut off its bread supply, cause famine to come on it, and kill both people and animals.

“ Or suppose I were to send a plague into that land, and pour out my rage on it with bloodshed, killing both people and animals.Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as surely as I live, declares the sovereign LORD, they could not save their own son or daughter; they would save only their own lives by their righteousness.“ For this is what the sovereign LORD says: How much worse will it be when I send my four terrible judgments– sword, famine, wild animals, and plague– to Jerusalem to kill both people and animals!

But in truth I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s days, when the sky was shut up three and a half years, and there was a great famine over all the land.
