So Gad went to David, told him the choices, and asked him,“ Do you want three years of famine to come on your land, to flee from your foes three months while they pursue you, or to have a plague in your land three days? Now, think it over and decide what answer I should take back to the One who sent me.”

于是迦得来见大卫，对他说：“你愿意国中有七年的饥荒呢？是在你敌人面前逃跑，被追赶三个月呢？是在你国中有三日的瘟疫呢？现在你要揣摩思想，我好回复那差我来的。”

于是迦得来到大卫那里告诉他，问他：“你要国中有七年的饥荒呢？或是你在敌人面前逃跑，被追赶三个月呢？或是在你国中有三日的瘟疫呢？现在你要考虑思量，我怎样去回覆那差我来的。”

于是迦得来见大卫，问他说：“你要国中三年（按照《马索拉文本》，“三年”作“七年”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译；参代上21:12）的饥荒呢？或是要在你敌人面前逃跑，被追赶三个月呢？或是要国中有三天的瘟疫呢？现在你要想想，决定我该用什么话回覆那差我来的。”

於是迦得來見大衛，對他說：「你願意國中有七年的饑荒呢？是在你敵人面前逃跑，被追趕三個月呢？是在你國中有三日的瘟疫呢？現在你要揣摩思想，我好回覆那差我來的。」

於是迦得來見大衛，通知他，問他說：『你願意你這地有三年饑荒呢？還是你在敵人面前逃跑、而他追趕着你三個月呢？抑或在你這地有三天的瘟疫呢？現在你要思想、要看清楚我該用甚麼話去回覆那差遣我的。』

迦得就來見大衛，向他傳告說：「你要國中遭受饑荒七年，或被敵人追逼逃亡三個月，還是國中有瘟疫三天呢？現在你要想好，看看我應該怎樣回話給派遣我來的那一位。」

迦得遂詣大衛曰、或饑饉臨於爾土七年、或為敵追襲遁逃三月、或疫癘流行爾國三日、爾其思之、俾我覆遣我者、

伽得告大闢曰、或饑饉臨於爾土、歷至七年、或為敵追襲、歷至三月、或瘟疫流行爾國、歷至三日、爾其思之、俾我反告遣我者。

So Gad went to David and said to him,“ Shall there come on you three years of famine in your land? Or three months of fleeing from your enemies while they pursue you? Or three days of plague in your land? Now then, think it over and decide how I should answer the one who sent me.”

So Gad went to David. He said to him,“ Take your choice. Do you want three years when there won’t be enough food in your land? Or do you want three months when you will run away from your enemies while they chase you? Or do you want three days when there will be a plague in your land? Think it over. Then take your pick. Tell me how to answer the one who sent me.”

So Gad came to David and told him, and said to him,“ Shall three years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ pestilence in your land? Now consider, and decide what answer I shall return to him who sent me.”

So Gad came to David and asked him,“ Will you choose three years of famine throughout your land, three months of fleeing from your enemies, or three days of severe plague throughout your land? Think this over and decide what answer I should give the Lord who sent me.”

So Gad went to David, told him the choices, and asked him,“ Do you want three years of famine to come on your land, to flee from your foes three months while they pursue you, or to have a plague in your land three days? Now, consider carefully what answer I should take back to the one who sent me.”

So Gad came to David and told him, and said to him,“ Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee for three months before your enemies while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ of plague in your land? Now consider and see what answer I shall return to Him who sent me.”

So Gad came to David and told him; and he said to him,“ Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or shall you flee three months before your enemies, while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ plague in your land? Now consider and see what answer I should take back to Him who sent me.”

So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thy foes while they pursue thee? or shall there be three days’ pestilence in thy land? now advise thee, and consider what answer I shall return to him that sent me.

So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days’ pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.

Gad went to David and told him,“ Shall seven years of famine come upon your land? Or shall you flee for three months from your enemy with him in hot pursuit? Or shall there be three days of plague in your land? Now decide what I should tell the one who sent me.”

So Gad came to David, and told him, and said to him,“ Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ pestilence in your land? Now answer, and consider what answer I shall return to him who sent me.”

three years of famine, or three months of devastation by your foes with the sword of your enemy overtaking you, or three days of the sword of the Lord— a plague on the land, the angel of the Lord bringing destruction to the whole territory of Israel.’ Now decide what answer I should take back to the One who sent me.”

Now Elijah the Tishbite, from the Gilead settlers, said to Ahab,“ As the Lord God of Israel lives, I stand before Him, and there will be no dew or rain during these years except by my command!”Then a revelation from the Lord came to him:“ Leave here, turn eastward, and hide yourself at the Wadi Cherith where it enters the Jordan.You are to drink from the wadi. I have commanded the ravens to provide for you there.”So he did what the Lord commanded. Elijah left and lived by the Wadi Cherith where it enters the Jordan.The ravens kept bringing him bread and meat in the morning and in the evening, and he drank from the wadi.After a while, the wadi dried up because there had been no rain in the land.

I will bring a sword against you to execute the vengeance of the covenant. Though you withdraw into your cities, I will send a pestilence among you, and you will be delivered into enemy hands.

During David’s reign there was a famine for three successive years, so David inquired of the Lord. The Lord answered,“ It is because of the blood shed by Saul and his family when he killed the Gibeonites.”

The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will march out against them from one direction but flee from them in seven directions. You will be an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

and your strength will be used up for nothing. Your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not bear their fruit.

then I will do this to you: I will bring terror on you— wasting disease and fever that will cause your eyes to fail and your life to ebb away. You will sow your seed in vain because your enemies will eat it.I will turn against you, so that you will be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee even though no one is pursuing you.

They will besiege you within all your gates until your high and fortified walls, that you trust in, come down throughout your land. They will besiege you within all your gates throughout the land the Lord your God has given you.

“ The Lord will afflict you with the boils of Egypt, tumors, a festering rash, and scabies, from which you cannot be cured.

“ I will put anxiety in the hearts of those of you who survive in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a wind-driven leaf will put them to flight, and they will flee as one flees from a sword, and fall though no one is pursuing them.They will stumble over one another as if fleeing from a sword though no one is pursuing them. You will not be able to stand against your enemies.

The Lord will afflict you with wasting disease, fever, inflammation, burning heat, drought, blight, and mildew; these will pursue you until you perish.

The Lord will afflict you with painful and incurable boils on your knees and thighs— from the sole of your foot to the top of your head.

“ Son of man, if a land sins against Me by acting faithlessly, and I stretch out My hand against it to cut off its supply of bread, to send famine through it, and to wipe out both man and animal from it,

“ Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out My wrath on it with bloodshed to wipe out both man and animal from it,even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live”— the declaration of the Lord God—“ they could not deliver their son or daughter. They would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.“ For this is what the Lord God says: How much worse will it be when I send My four devastating judgments against Jerusalem— sword, famine, dangerous animals, and plague— in order to wipe out both man and animal from it!

But I say to you, there were certainly many widows in Israel in Elijah’s days, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months while a great famine came over all the land.

the plague that stalks in darkness, or the pestilence that ravages at noon.
