Next to him was Eleazar son of Dodai the Ahohite. As one of the three mighty warriors, he was with David when they taunted the Philistines gathered at Pas Dammim for battle. Then the Israelites retreated,

And after him[ was] Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite,[ one] of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines[ that] were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:

Next in command was Eleazar son of Dodo, the son of Ahohi. He was one of the three warriors who were with David when they defied the Philistines who were assembled there for battle. When the men of Israel retreated,

After him was Eleazar the son of Dodai the son of an Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines who were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel had gone away.

Dodai the Ahohite and his division was in charge of the division for the second month, Mikloth being the chief officer; and in his division were twenty four thousand.

Then David said to the men who were standing by him,“ What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and rids Israel of the disgrace? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he has dared to defy the armies of the living God?”

I looked, but there was no one to help, And I was astonished and there was no one to uphold; So My own arm brought salvation to Me, And My wrath upheld Me.

And His disciples all left Him and fled.

Then the Philistine said,“ I have defied the ranks of Israel this day! Give me a man, so that we may fight together.”

But David said to the Philistine,“ You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a saber, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of armies, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I will strike you and remove your head from you. Then I will give the dead bodies of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,

Abishua, Naaman, Ahoah,

And he took up his discourse and said,“ From Aram Balak has brought me, Moab’s king from the mountains of the East, saying,‘ Come, declare Jacob cursed for me, And come, curse Israel!’How am I to put a curse on him upon whom God has not put a curse? And how am I to curse him whom the Lord has not cursed?

Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he has defied the armies of the living God.”

After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.He was with David at Pas dammim when the Philistines were gathered together there to battle, and there was a plot of land full of barley; and the people fled from the Philistines.But they took their stand in the midst of the plot and defended it, and defeated the Philistines; and the Lord saved them with a great victory.

“ I have trodden the wine trough alone, And from the peoples there was no one with Me. I also trod them in My anger And trampled them in My wrath; And their lifeblood is sprinkled on My garments, And I stained all My clothes.
