The God of Israel spoke. The Rock of Israel said to me,‘ A king must rule over people in a way that is right. He must have respect for God when he rules.

The God of Israel has spoken; the Rock of Israel has said to me: When one rules justly over men, ruling in the fear of God,

The God of Israel spoke. The Rock of Israel said to me:‘ The one who rules righteously, who rules in the fear of God,

The God of Israel spoke; the Rock of Israel said to me,“ The one who rules the people with justice, who rules in the fear of God,

The God of Israel said it; The Rock of Israel spoke to me:‘ He who rules over mankind righteously, Who rules in the fear of God,

The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me:‘ He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God.

The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spake to me: One that ruleth over men righteously, That ruleth in the fear of God,

The God of Israel spoke; the Rock of Israel said to me,“ The one who rules the people with justice, who rules in the fear of God,

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men[ must be] just, ruling in the fear of God.

The God of Israel spoke, the protector of Israel spoke to me. The one who rules fairly among men, the one who rules in the fear of God,

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me,‘ One who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God,

For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?

There he set up an altar and called it El Elohe Israel.

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.

He said:“ The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior— from violent people you save me.

But select capable men from all the people— men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain— and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.

See, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with justice.

Moreover, from the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, until his thirty-second year— twelve years— neither I nor my brothers ate the food allotted to the governor.

Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine,you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”

Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.”In Jerusalem also, Jehoshaphat appointed some of the Levites, priests and heads of Israelite families to administer the law of the Lord and to settle disputes. And they lived in Jerusalem.He gave them these orders:“ You must serve faithfully and wholeheartedly in the fear of the Lord.

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

I say to God my Rock,“ Why have you forgotten me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?”

Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying,“ Rule in the midst of your enemies!”

May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice.

Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the Lord had given them up?For their rock is not like our Rock, as even our enemies concede.

But about the Son he says,“ Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears;but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

“ I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the Lord your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly.Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the innocent.Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the Lord your God is giving you.

“ Do not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits.Have nothing to do with a false charge and do not put an innocent or honest person to death, for I will not acquit the guilty.“ Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the innocent.

“ The days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.

God also said to Moses,“ Say to the Israelites,‘ The Lord, the God of your fathers— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob— has sent me to you.’“ This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation.
