亞捫人見亞蘭人逃跑了，他們也就從亞比篩面前逃跑，進城去。約押便從亞捫人那裏回來，到了耶路撒冷。

約押的兄弟亞比篩是三十勇士級的首領。他揮了矛刺死三百人，就贏得了名聲像三勇士一樣。在三十勇士級裏他是最尊貴的，所以他做他們的隊長：只是還沒有達到三勇士的等級。

大衛打發兵眾出去，三分之一在約押手下，三分之一在洗魯雅的兒子、約押的兄弟、亞比篩手下，三分之一在迦特人乙太手下。王對兵眾說：『我也必定和你們一同出戰。』

約押和他兄弟亞比篩殺了押尼珥，是因為押尼珥在基遍爭鬪時殺死了他們的兄弟亞撒黑的緣故。

大衛應時問赫人亞希米勒、和洗魯雅的兒子約押的兄弟亞比篩說：『誰跟我下營盤到掃羅那裏？』亞比篩說：『我同你下去。』於是大衛和亞比篩夜間到了眾兵那裏，見掃羅躺在輜重營裏睡着，他的矛在他頭旁、插在地上；押尼珥和眾兵都躺在他四圍。亞比篩對大衛說：『今天上帝將你的仇敵送交在你手裏；現在請容我拿矛將他刺透在地上：一刺就成，不用再刺。』

他們的姐妹是洗魯雅和亞比該。洗魯雅的兒子是亞比篩、約押、亞撒黑，三個人。
