To those who are pure you show that you are pure. But to those whose paths are crooked you show that you are clever.

清洁的人，你以清洁待他；乖僻的人，你以弯曲待他。

清洁的人，你以清洁待他；歪曲的人，你以弯曲待他。

清洁的人，你以清洁待他；歪曲的人，你以弯曲待他。

纯洁的人，你以纯洁待他；心术不正的人，你以计谋待他。

对清洁的人，你显出你的清洁；对狡诈的人，你显出你的机巧。

清潔的人，你以清潔待他；乖僻的人，你以彎曲待他。

清潔的人，你以清潔待他；歪曲的人，你以彎曲待他。

純潔的人，你以純潔待他；心術不正的人，你以計謀待他。

清潔者、主循其清潔以待之、邪曲者、主循其邪曲以待之、

to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd.

with the purified you deal purely, and with the crooked you make yourself seem tortuous.

To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.

with the pure you prove yourself pure, but with the crooked you prove yourself shrewd.

With the one who is pure You show Yourself pure, But with the perverted You show Yourself astute.

With the pure You will show Yourself pure; And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd.

With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; And with the perverse thou wilt show thyself froward.

with the pure You prove Yourself pure, but with the crooked You prove Yourself shrewd.

With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

You prove to be reliable to one who is blameless, but you prove to be deceptive to one who is perverse.

With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.

Blessed are those whose hearts are pure. They will see God.

“‘ After all those things, suppose you still do not accept my warnings. And suppose you continue to be my enemy.Then I myself will be your enemy. I will make you suffer again and again for your sins.I will send war against you to punish you for breaking my covenant. When you go back into your cities, I will send a plague among you. You will be handed over to your enemies.I will cut off your supply of bread. Ten women will need only one oven to bake your bread. They will weigh out the bread piece by piece. Even when you eat all of it, it will not be enough to satisfy you.“‘ After all that, suppose you still do not listen to me. And suppose you continue to be my enemy.Then I will be angry with you. I will be your enemy. I myself will again punish you for your sins over and over.

Now I know that the Lord is greater than all other gods. See what he did to those who looked down on Israel.”

But the Lord will drive out those who have taken crooked paths. He will drive them out with those who do evil things. May Israel enjoy peace.

Be careful to follow all the words of this law. They are written in this scroll. Have respect for the glorious and wonderful name of the Lord your God. If you don’t,he will send terrible plagues on you and your children after you. He’ll send horrible and lasting troubles. He’ll make you very sick for a long time.He’ll bring on you all the sicknesses you were afraid of getting when you were in Egypt. You won’t be able to get rid of them.The Lord will also bring on you all other kinds of sickness and trouble. I haven’t even written those down in this Book of the Law. You will be destroyed.

To those who are pure you show that you are pure. But to those whose paths are crooked you show that you are clever.

How terrible it will be for anyone who argues with their Maker! They are like a broken piece of pottery lying on the ground. Does clay say to a potter,“ What are you making?” Does a pot say,“ The potter doesn’t have any skill”?
