他斥責海，使海乾了，使一切江河乾涸。巴珊和迦密的樹林衰殘；黎巴嫩的花草也衰殘了。

耶和華啊，你乘在馬上，坐在得勝的車上，豈是不喜悅江河、向江河發怒氣、向洋海發憤恨嗎？你的弓全然顯露，向眾支派所起的誓都是可信的。（細拉）你以江河分開大地。山嶺見你，無不戰懼；大水氾濫過去，深淵發聲，洶湧翻騰。

從他鼻孔冒煙上騰；從他口中發火焚燒，連炭也着了。

摩西向海伸杖，耶和華便用大東風，使海水一夜退去，水便分開，海就成了乾地。以色列人下海中走乾地，水在他們的左右作了牆垣。埃及人追趕他們，法老一切的馬匹、車輛，和馬兵都跟着下到海中。到了晨更的時候，耶和華從雲火柱中向埃及的軍兵觀看，使埃及的軍兵混亂了；又使他們的車輪脫落，難以行走，以致埃及人說：「我們從以色列人面前逃跑吧！因耶和華為他們攻擊我們了。」耶和華對摩西說：「你向海伸杖，叫水仍合在埃及人並他們的車輛、馬兵身上。」摩西就向海伸杖，到了天一亮，海水仍舊復原。埃及人避水逃跑的時候，耶和華把他們推翻在海中，

並且斥責紅海，海便乾了；他帶領他們經過深處，如同經過曠野。

說：你只可到這裏，不可越過；你狂傲的浪要到此止住。

滄海看見就奔逃；約旦河也倒流。大山踴躍，如公羊；小山跳舞，如羊羔。滄海啊，你為何奔逃？約旦哪，你為何倒流？大山哪，你為何踴躍，如公羊？小山哪，你為何跳舞，如羊羔？大地啊，你因見主的面，就是雅各神的面，便要震動。

你發鼻中的氣，水便聚起成堆，大水直立如壘，海中的深水凝結。仇敵說：我要追趕，我要追上；我要分擄物，我要在他們身上稱我的心願。我要拔出刀來，親手殺滅他們。你叫風一吹，海就把他們淹沒；他們如鉛沉在大水之中。

神啊，你為何永遠丟棄我們呢？你為何向你草場的羊發怒，如煙冒出呢？

耶和華啊，你的斥責一發，你鼻孔的氣一出，海底就出現，大地的根基也顯露。他從高天伸手抓住我，把我從大水中拉上來。他救我脫離我的勁敵和那些恨我的人，因為他們比我強盛。

耶穌說：「你們這小信的人哪，為甚麼膽怯呢？」於是起來，斥責風和海，風和海就大大地平靜了。眾人希奇，說：「這是怎樣的人？連風和海也聽從他了！」
