摩西向海伸手，耶和华就用极强的东风，一夜之间使海水退去；他使海变成干地，海水也分开了。以色列人下到海中走干地，水在他们的左右作了墙垣。埃及人追赶过来，法老所有的马匹、马车和马兵，都跟着以色列人下到海中去。到了晨更的时候，耶和华透过云柱火柱向下观看埃及人的军兵，并且使埃及人的军兵大起混乱。又使他们的车轮脱落，行驶困难，因此埃及人说：“我们从以色列人面前逃跑吧，因为耶和华为他们争战，攻击埃及人了。”耶和华对摩西说：“你要向海伸手，使水回流到埃及人身上，流到他们的战车和马兵身上。”摩西就向海伸手，到了天亮的时候，海水流回原处；埃及人逆流逃跑的时候，耶和华就把他们投在海中。

他斥责红海，海就干了；他领他们走过海底，像经过旷野一样。

说：‘你只可到这里，不可越过，你狂傲的波浪要在这里止住。’

大海看见就奔逃，约旦河也倒流。大山跳跃像公羊，小山蹦跳像小羊。大海啊！你为什么奔逃？约旦河啊！你为什么倒流？大山啊！你们为什么跳跃像公羊？小山啊！你们为什么蹦跳像小羊？大地啊！你在主的面前，在雅各的神面前要战抖。

你鼻孔中的气一发，海水就堆聚起来；水流直立像堤坝，深渊凝结于海心。仇敌说：‘我要追赶，我要追上，我要均分掳物；我要在他们身上得到满足；我要拔出刀来，亲手赶绝他们。’你用风一吹，海就把他们淹没，他们就像铅一样沉在大水之中。

耶和华斥责一发，你鼻孔的气一出，海底就出现，大地的根基也显露。他从高处伸手抓住我，把我从大水中拉上来。他救我脱离我的强敌，脱离那些恨我的人，因为他们比我强盛。

耶稣却对他们说：“小信的人哪！为什么害怕呢？”他就起来斥责风和海，风浪就完全平静了。众人都惊奇，说：“这是什么人，连风和海也听从他？”
